like a lot of others to me it gets down to this

No matter how good McVay is, if they can't get the OL to function decently AND Goff does not come through as at least a decent starting caliber qb, they are not going to win much. We all know this.

There's a slim chance that overnight Goff becomes one of those rare qbs who can play effectively when his OL is a huge problem. But those guys are not common.

But here is the real challenge for us. Let's say that both the OL and Goff are going the right direction but still struggling. Getting there, but not there.

Will we be able to see it that way? Will we be able to go, okay yes they're not there yet but I can see them going the right direction?

Or they could just get it together -- young talent comes through, they're ready to compete in 2017.

I assume that no matter what happens, through all of this that the coaching staff is just not going to be the issue. Or I will be surprised if it is. I expect these coaches to be just fine. That's an opinion vote, and really is mostly just a hunch at this point, but still.

Yes indeed but a sprinkling of veterans would have helped
