Above average Secondary players who are young, healthy, second contract players get BIG bucks.
The idea that the Rams are going to get about as good a player as Tru for considerably less money is unlikely.
Nobody around here thought McCleod would get HUGE money to go to the Iggles.
Nobody thought that Barron would get the HUGE contract to stay with the Rams.
FAs cost big money; and if you fit the NFL mold, are youthful and have been a solid or better player, you're going to get paid.
If you want one, you're going to pay big.
I don't see how they let Tru walk unless they have their eye on another CB in FA that they like as well as Tru, and believe they can get for less money....or fits Phillips' system better.
Unless McVay is sandbagging, he has indicated a great desire to keep Tru. Of course, we don't know what is going on behind the scenes.
