There appears to be such fine talent in this year's draft early. I've looked names over and after the "stars" there aren't the name values.

Swearinger might be a play.
Berry will be a free agent, but what kind of money is involved? With high needs at other areas, I expect the Rams to be a bit conservative at S.
I see a FS with coverage skills a need.
Last year we saw the Rams D take a step back with the loss of McLeod. He had strong coverage skills while Alexander did not. This required GW to compensate by keeping TJM deep much more often which in turn negatively affected the run game.
I’d like to see them sign Duran Harmon from NE. He’s got good coverage skills, solid in run support and doesn’t start b/c he’s playing behind pro bowler Devin McCourty.
I bet he’s looking for a chance to start. And he may not be that expensive and probably cheaper than resigning McDonald.
I’d sign Harmon and move Alexander to his natural SS spot. Alexander would be every bit as good as TJM there. IMO, this solution would upgrade the safety room while possibly being less expensive.
