Look at the QBs of the 8 teams in the divisional rounds.
Except the guy from Houston they are all considered elite or very good.
Not surprisingly the big plays when push came to shove, with the games hanging in the balance came from the passing offense and the QB position.
Not more glaring than in the two games yesterday. Yes, Bell was doing a fantastic job but when the game was on the line BigBen came threw for them in the clutch.
The DAL vs GB game too was a prime example.
Brady. Big Ben. Rodgers.Ryan. Again not by coincidence the teams with the best QBs are still in the hunt.
And no, zn, this is not about passing attempts or being a run or pass first team. It is about the quality of a QB and the passing game that is so important .
Fisher never recognized or admitted this fact and that was his eventual downfall with the Rams. Right to the end he thought he could win with his outdated style of offense. 3 yards and a cloud of dust is no longer a winning formula in this league. At least not if you are talking about winning in the playoffs and a SB title.
Lets hope that our new HC will change that culture and approach once and for all.
