he was called on to do very little BUT... for the Ram's, I don't think he was 'restricted' much at all. AND... I don't think Goff showed much hesitation to attempt threading the needle.
I AM confused by the deeper throws, which I couldn't see well on TV... as I said to RFL in the Game Time Forum. I'm not sure what was going on there... but I suspect our WR's weren't getting open. Goff took some chances short, IMHO, I see no reason he wouldn't have done the same 'deep' had they WR's shown even a modicum of separation. - JamesJM
Being at the game, what I saw was that the WRs were not getting open. On that one deep sideline throw to Britt...it was a good, accurate back-shoulder throw that Britt couldn't make the catch on because the defender was all over him.
Goff, to me, showed that he wasn't overwhelmed, he wasn't scared of the competition, and he wasn't afraid of throwing into tight windows. But he did have some bad throws and there was one play where he locked onto Gurley in the flat where Quick was breaking wide open in the middle of the field on a cross.
A mixed bag for sure, but the moment didn't look too big for him. This whole squad is hamstrung by the system, and of course GRob.
