Get low, listen to Singletary, make the calls for the defense and he will be an outstanding MLB in the NFL. Stay high, don't bend the hips, try to get by on athletic talent alone, and AO will never reach his true ability. It's all up to AO to decide. All I know is if Singletary is telling me how to play LB, then I am all ears and running around like a mad dog at practice. Plus, I would knowby oldschoolramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
We are not deep at QB until we see them all in action. We know Keenum is the starter, we know Goff is in his first 2 games in the NFL. I am curious to see what Mannion gives us as a player with the #1 unit.by oldschoolramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
Look at it this way. Mannion looks the best and brings them back vs, the Cowboys for a win. Then, gets zero reps vs. KC? I mean, the guy can sling the rock. Look at out QB history....... Haden gets hurt, Ferragamo comes in and leads us to Super Bowl. Green gets hurt, Warner comes in, we all know the story. My point, Mannion may be our starting QB, We will never know until he plays some qby oldschoolramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
I mean, 3 TD's in the second half to beat the Cowboys. I really think he should start game 3 and let's see if he is ready to be #1......or at least challenge for it.by oldschoolramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
Simple. Quick is in year 3, the rookies are just that, rookies. A 4 year vet, who already knows the playbook should not even be in the same conversation. Yet, Quick finds himself still in that roster battle. I say trade Quick.......We need to get something for him and teams will make a trade. Get some secondary help. I prefer to go with Duke, McRoberts, Thomas, Richards, Hill.........Any ofby oldschoolramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
Al Davis in plain and simple English. All I know is I don't really care who starts at QB, FS, WR, DE.....ect, ect ect.... The best players will rise to the top and earn the right for playing time. My first goal for this team is to win the division title and if they did it, and my Mom was QB, then I would be just fine. Playoff football is long overdue for this franchise and a little competiby oldschoolramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
Go back and watch the first series vs. KC. We were 50/50 run vs. pass on offense.....Keenum underthrow was a TD, which I liked because we actually had a play call that was designed to "throw it deep". Gurley, well he makes ANY O-Line look good, but the boys up front were getting push and creating space. Plus, we were down 7-0, and our Offense marched down and matched the TD with Gurby oldschoolramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
I am just curious to understand your logic because I was also wondering why Williams basically has no thrown balls to him all pre-season. Thanks.........by oldschoolramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
Quick does not have a hall pass this season. He needs to BE THE GUY. He needs to put pressure on Britt and unseed him for the starting job. Instead, Britt is our #1 by default because nobody is stepping up and challenging him for the job. I think Cooper and Spruce are in....Why? Because they catch the flippin" football...Austin is in because he is a game changer......The rest of our WR'sby oldschoolramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
Yip.....Pass was totally short and was only about 45-50 yds in the air. WR was open and QB could not lead him for an easy TD if the pass was longer. No pass interference if ball was on the money.by oldschoolramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
I agree with everything you said GRITS. We need to clean it up on defense, continue to improve on offense and grow as a unit. The WR's you mentioned are the guys we need to step up and become players. We need them to raise the level of our WR play. Mannion, needs to keep the heat on the other QB's.....I would love for him to push Case for the starting job. Goff, go in there this week and keby oldschoolramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
Keenum, Mannion and Goff all keep getting better. In fact, I hope Mannion rises to the top and starts. Why? Because then Goff will get the same treatment Mannion had his first year. Get in the weight room, learn the playbook, know it forward and backwards. Then, next season we will have 2 legit QB's in Mannion and Goff. I would love to have that problem, 2 good QB's.......Heck, we have had noby oldschoolramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
Watched Prescotts film vs Dolphins. I think 2 of his completions were from under center, for about 8 yds. ALL the rest were from shotgun, and my mom could have completed 1/2 of those throws to wide oped WR's that were only about 10 yarders. Goff my friends is going to be a very good QB......The kid can throw the rock.by oldschoolramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
Just sayin'.........Board was getting boring with all this camp talk....Realistically there are only about 6 roster spots open, the rest are taken. Now, hopefully a WR will "flash" like Spruce did last week. We need a player to step up at that WR position, we'll see after the KC game who it is.....Nice to see the QB's in camp working in shotgun formation. Maybe Groh got in Fisher's earby oldschoolramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
Totally agree.......Leadership and being smart at the QB position is much more a priority than being athletic. Which the two most important traits, RG III lacks.by oldschoolramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
Only time will tell I guess.by oldschoolramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
He looked solid in highlights. Just wish we had taken a flier on the guy. I can't stop thinking about RG III, Gurley and Austin on the same offense.by oldschoolramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
My all-time favorite backfield for the Ram offense. Those 3 RB's can go down as the best ground and pound group in Rams history. Of course Dickerson and Faulk were great.......But, they alone were the backfield.by oldschoolramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
Also, Cody Davis was back there at Safety with the #1 unit. Another thing I noticed was Coach Mike Groh. He kept those WR's working and had different drills to keep them moving. He's also not afraid to call out a veteran. In a drill, the WR's are supposed to turn up field after making the catch, Britt tried to give it the ol' catch and get back in line. Groh was on him immediately, they both lby oldschoolramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
I was there as well......It took I.Battle about 20 minutes to navigate 8 stairs leading to the training room. Looked like his knee was the issue. It did not look good, like he won't be playing for a while. If WR Mike Thomas is 200 lbs, then I must be at least 330.....Dude is talented, but man is he skinny. A little disappointed that it was not full pads, but typical Fisher, not really goingby oldschoolramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
I did not see them, used the porta potties in Lot 6 before we ventured to the stadium. I will have to look more closely next time. I was to busy being focused on the Coliseum.by oldschoolramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
I am tunnel 14, row 74...seats 1-4 on the end of the row. Shade was nice in that end zone yesterday. Where are your seats? A few Cowboy fans were being a little "jerkey" during the fist 2 quarters, of course they left before the Rams completed the comeback. All in all, it was great to see the Rams in the Coliseum, in the California sunshine, on real grass......It was a great homecomiby oldschoolramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
Yip..... Dez Bryant dominated our little corners.by oldschoolramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
Haha...No, the bathrooms and everything were still the same. One thing, there is still only one big screen. I still don't know why they don't put a big screen on the 50 yard line opposite the press box and suites so everyone in the stadium can see. They really need to do that.by oldschoolramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
I am not surprised at all by Mannion and his play on Sat. night. Went to camp a few times this summer and Mannion was the biggest QB in camp. The kid can sling the ball around the field and he has been in the system for 2 years. He knows the plays and looks very comfortable running to offense. IMHO.......The best thing for Goff is to not rush him at all. Give him a clipboard, visor and a peby oldschoolramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
Exactly.....No better places to watch a football game than the Coliseum and the Rose Bowl. Sunshine, open air and real grass. Best way ever to welcome the Rams back to L.A.........The Coliseum never looked better than it did yesterday.by oldschoolramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
Go on the internet and read about the History Of The Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. You will get the goosebumps, hair on the back of your neck will stand up, and when you watch the game tonight vs. the cowboys, we will all realize the significance of today"s game and why playing in the Coliseum is much more than playing in any other stadium. Thank you to all the Veterans that served oby oldschoolramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
If the Rams come out in Blue and Whites, you will hear the roar of the crowd from L.A. to New York City. The Fans will go nuts and they will welcome this team home with the longest standing ovation ever heard. It will be an iconic moment.by oldschoolramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
How they handle Goff. I agree with all you said as far as the move and leeway given because this has all been in motion since Fisher took over. The Rams were leaving and Fisher was hired knowing he would lead this team back to CA. How they handle Goff and how he turns out as an NFL QB will be how Fisher is remembered as Rams HC.by oldschoolramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
You need talent and depth on the roster to win games in the NFL. Fisher and Snead had none of that when they took over 4 years ago. We can "Want" and "Wish" for better seasons, but that is not the reality. Our talent level was 7-9, or worse when you throw in the injury bug and the QB carousel.
