I pretty much agree with you on this. There are a lot of things to be outraged or bent out of shape about when it comes to football, but Campbell's comment isn't one of them. Heck, if he saw the Rams coach somewhere today he would probably say the same thing. It was more of a respectful gesture after a victory. That's all! I think the 1st playoff game will be more difficult having to play Minnesota or Detroit, but I also think the second game will be easier not having to go to Philly. Back in the early 90's (I think it was), a young Freshman for Notre Dame named Rick Mirer beat my Michigan Wolverines in a game that Michigan dominated and never should have lost at South Bend. Can't see them being down for long. Gotta have fun with it while it lasts. Many thought the Rams were gonna go down the tubes with a full blown rebuild and they have 2 playoff appearances in a row and are looking pretty strong. I voted no. Buying game tix, plane tix, hotel, etc for the last game of the season is always going to come with the risk of starters not playing, either from already being eliminated or already clinching. No such thing as right way or wrong way I don't think unless the league finds out that the whole team was on roids or did something illegal to get the win. I won't say that it's his best season, but I think he has gotten this team further than anyone imagined. He has done a great job, even though he didn't get the style point win against the Cardinals that 80% of the board craved apparently. :) To be 1-4 and finish the way they have shows a lot of character. The rule seems totally reasonable. If you have total control of the ball with your hands and the ball doesn't move when it hits the ground (which shows that you have total control) then it's a catch. I guess I'm just not seeing what's wrong with that. It makes total sense and doesn't punish the player for making a totally legitimate, firmly controlled catch. I know most on this board are really upset after this win for some reason, but I'm still pretty excited about it. That team beat our ever-loving as##s up and down the field the last time, so I'm not sure why everyone was expecting some massive blowout for the Rams and are now disappointed. I hoped the Rams would win. They did. Sure, there is a bigger picture outlook I guess, but they did accomplish THE most important thing. Your points are definitely spot on though.
