Newton, if they picked him is not a reach. Most have him rated around where the Rams are picking. What we don't know is where he sits on the Rams draft board. The whole world had Turner as a Major reach say he was picked 2 rounds early and they were totally wrong. Saying a guy who may be picked 2 or 3 slots above where draft writers have him ranked and calling him a reach is just plain dumbby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
She is the best writer and knows how the Rams think better than anyone. This is why she can ask the great question. She thinks like McSnead thinks. Whether it is how the organization is constructed, the culture of the team etc. She also has great understand of all the players and how they fit and what they are working on. She did an analysis of Buglers mock draft and had insights on each oby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Stetson Bennett has the skills to be a good backup QB and he is cheap. Is he over his "problem"? That is the big question but if he is we need to switch gears in how we are thinking. With Jimmy G. we have a high quality backup which gives Stetson a 1 year roadway until he needs to step into the number 2 role. We then have a quality backup on cost control for 2 more years. Not bad anby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Those super WR cost a lot of money having a 2 studs on rookie deals helps with the cap over the next few years.by David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
I agree that Thomas at 19 looks interesting. Great size, Speed and can catch the ball. McVay can figure out how to get him open and with Kupp he can learn a more advance route tree and techniques to confuse DBs. Odunze probably requires a trade up but the kid is going to be available. Read a story about him getting injured seriously and not being able to fly home with the team. Kid drivesby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Wonder why Jalen Carter rookie season go more allocates? Draft position? Took Turner a while to explode statically? .by David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Great write up for a sad looking group Agree with you Audric Estime and Youngblood this guy would fit in and would be ready to be a number 2 back. A power running game matches up well with his talents and despite slow 40 time he is a strong running who decisively hits the right hold. If Williams goes down we we could get buy with him and a 3rd down type back.by David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
I remember him standing in the pocket throwing deep with guy hanging off him.by David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Thanks this was great. There looks like some great talent to be had in Rounds 2/3. Maybe a trade down to add a extra pick in that range? Or if Thomas is there is he to hard to pass up?by David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Gosh what a great list. DL, Edge & CB seem pretty strong & meet the Rams needs. That bodes well for finding value when we pick. On offense it seemed like OL & WR were strong. Can only see drafting a LOT early though. My guess would be trade down, Edge or IDL with the fist pick. Same thing in Round 2 unless there is extreme value at LOT or WR. Anyway thanks for all the harby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Just what I need for the draft. Wish the RB group was strongerby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Thanks, Alyo, Doesn't strike me as a strong part of the draft.by David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Thanks Dead that was great work. Really seemed like WR, OL, CB are loaded. DL/Edge pretty good too. I guess 6 QB isn't bad either. Wish there were more RB to get excited about. Thanks for getting my juices going.by David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Dead as always a top notch job on the draft.by David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
I love Williams but the Rams better draft a RB that is capable of starting multiple games. Williams tough running style and size along with his history are probably going to translate to missed time. That said I love the offensive line and Williams if he stays healthy should have a huge year.by David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Well at DT seems like the easy choice to make. Picking 19 thee will most likely be value at DT when we so its not like we would be reaching With AD gone and only 3 DL signed after next season DL is a big need. Most gurus don't include trade up or trade downs and Snead is at least a 30% chance of trading the pick. What other position would be more likely for the Rams to pick? OT? Eby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Well the kid did pay tribute to AD. What better example could he have to model is game after. So he got a little carried away with his potential. Based on the reps he did he will need to get much stronger and somehow he will need to get much faster too. Not sure how you emulate the quickness and moves AD had especially when you consider he was 2x/3x team more then any player ever.by David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
43 Nice 43 with lots of good thoughts Drafting a future LOT seems like a good idea for the Rams and that position this draft is very deep. Depending if one of the top 3 guys falls to 19 I could see it. Of course Snead my trade up or down depending on where He see's the value and if there is a partner available. I could also see the LOT being picked in the 2nd round and being a year 2 potentby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
We are so blessed to have had AD on the Rams and witness his greatness. AD put himself through a brutal conditioning program and went all out in practice and games. He basically went all in for 11 months of the year. The guy made a fortune and maybe he just decided to enjoy the fruits of his labor. As a fan it is sad to see him go but he goes down as an all time great. I wish him all tby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Jimmy G. is a quality backup which we haven't had entering the season for as long as I can remember. He played in a similar system in SF which will help him assimilate into McVay's offense. While you can argue over who you would rather have I am just really happy we got a good backup.by David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Dead, Great List and I really enjoyed how you separated the locks from those who are probable and those who might sneak in. Great list.by David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Thanks those were some nice memories. When I was a kid it was Bernie Casey and Jack Snow as the WR.by David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
I agree 43 but it is fun to try and guess what their strategy they will deploy and who they will choose. We can also argue over what a terrible draft choice they made in the 4th or 5th round when the odds of success are below 50% while forgetting those they hit on and judging others too quickly. I guess will get some clues about next year once Free Agency Opens.by David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Alyo thanks this is a great start for understanding the prospects for this years draft. Seems like there will be a nice WR & RB available in the mid rounds that can make the team and be a backup and possible a rotation player in 2024. Might also need to snag one of those TEs as the room is getting thin,by David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
I agree in the limited time he has played he has shown some chops.by David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
When the season started I thought we had a playoff caliber level offense but had to many ???? of defense with all the young players. The defense stepped up and became a middle of the road which is a huge success and we made the playoffs. I call that a great success and I am very pleased. I am also pleased that we have some many young players who will be ready for next season. and should be expby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
The Lions are a damn good team. They should have another win but the Refs and the NFL totally screwed up by calling a foul that was clearly not a foul on a successful 2 point conversion for the win. NFL even admitted this gross injustice by demoting that Ref team and not giving them any playoff games. What scares me is if we don't get enough pressure on Goff he will kill us in the passing atby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
I agree Johnson has been getting on the field for brief spurts rather consistently and he always seems to do something good that gets him noticed. I think we have Johnson, Tomlinson, Allen and Hampton who will be poised for breakouts next season. Lots to look forward to.by David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
The Market over and under prices players. When the Market over prices them it is wise to be very cautious especially in a high risk situation. A big Dotson contract carries more risk than that of a more established guard. The price we paid for Dotson was very inexpensive and why was that? It was because he would have been a bench warmer on Pitt. To Pitt who knew the player well wouldn'tby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
