I am torn on this trade. Rams gave up a LOT in the trade. And I mean a LOT. Guy is 30 years already. Has he seen his best days on a football field already. Would not be suprising if he has. Verse was a fierce pass rusher himself, on the good side of 30 plus cheap for another season. Will this disrupt the locker room `? For THIS SB window this pick is a waste no matter how you look at it. A player who will not see the field there can be no other way to view it. There were players available at 13 who could have helped the rams in their quest for a SB in the next two years. Besides that this guy has not exceptional tools, is a little on the old side too. From a positional and talent view I am disappointed by this Rams draft. IMHO they have not raised the talent level of their roster for THIS season at the very least. Simpson at Nr. 13 was a reach and will not help on the field in 2026 . If Stafford should go down our SB hopes are done reagardless of who the backup is. Woke up , checked the draft results and thought I was still dreaming. Simpson might turn out to be a good QB but he was about the last guy I thought the Rams would take at the Nr. 13 overall from a positional , need and strategical view. Rams did it with Ramsey and now with McDuffie. Yes, the draft capital we are giving up is rather steep but you are getting back a young stud CB, the biggest need on this team. A need that probably cost us a SB title last season. 1. Sign a top CB in free agency. 2.Bring back Coby Durant. 3. Use our 1st rounder next season to move up from 13 to Nr. 6 or Nr. 7 in front of NO and KC to draft Love out of ND. Imagine him and Stafford in a McVay offense. Love is in that Gibbs mode , a home run threat from everywhere on the field, a very good receiver too. Well, if you can overcome such a gutpunch with that miracle hail mary play by the Bears and win a playoff game like that on the road everything is possible. Rams defense played a great game with the exceptlion of Durants complete mental meltdown on the tying td and they have shown in the past they can rattle DArnold. What is baffling: Until that horrific stretch of games you mention our D was regarded as a top 5 D and the stats backed that up. What happened that caused this colossal donwspiral ?That is the question the Rams should try to answer quickly and correct it. Is it scheme ? A drop off in production by too many players ? Injuries ?
