QuotePHDram i completely disagree with this statement. look at the franchise tag amounts. safeties are 4 million less then wrs because they are valued less. teams pay wrs more. end of story. more evidence? look at the draft. top wrs almost always go before top safeties. We have seen how easy it is to get a talent at WR like SW ever since the days of Torry holt. :lol1 Amazing how so maby dodgerram - RamsFootballFans.com
Exactly. SW is not a superstar but a solid Nr.1 WR who is productive even when he is going against the other teams top CB like a Peterson , Sherman or JJ. Not a Julio Jones but a WR talented and productive enough who forces the other teams defense to game plan for him. Thus creating opportunities for other players and plays. For years we were advocating hard for a guy like that on this boarby dodgerram - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteRampage2K- QuotePHDram y ... I personally want him back, but I just can't see justifying paying him twice as much as Woods. I want him back, but at a certain price. $11.5 mil per would be the max. I guarantee you that without Watkins garnering respect and attention of opposing defenses both woods and Kupps stats would not look nearly as gaudy as they did in 2017. Quotejemach Joyner seems to get hurt quite a bit. His small frame lends to injury. I guess the Rams have decided to improve the defense at the expense of the offense. Our red zone will be the dead zone. That is exactly how I see this shaping up. Sacrifice offense for defense. Go Rams!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!by dodgerram - RamsFootballFans.com
especially lamenting the missing Nr. 1 WR who could strike fear into opposing defenses and force them to game plan for him. Now we finally get one ( for a high price nevertheless) , he helps us to become the leagues best offense and we have nothing better to do than probably let him get away after ONE season that saw the biggest turnaround in offensive output in history. Laughable to say Withworth over Pace. Pace was a shut down LOT in the passing game if there ever was one. With him you could be sure that your QB would not get blindsided . Go Rams!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!by dodgerram - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteLMU93 That's a very fair argument. I don't want to lose him but at the same time in trying to be objective he's the 4th option in their passing game. And considering I think McVay wants to get more than 88 targets to his TEs next year how much more will Watkins give them? From 39 to maybe 50 or even 55 catches? Probably. But not 75+. It's a hard decision. To be honest_: No, it isn´t aby dodgerram - RamsFootballFans.com
Quotejemach We have a QB on the cheap... We have our best players on the cheap... We signed Austin to a lucrative deal that wasn't even necessary... We lost Jenkins... We gave Johnson the cap twice and now are worried about overpaying for Watkins... I'm waiting for the genius to come through. Me too. as the Peters trade would suggest they have to keep SW. He might not have had monster numbers but 8tds is no slight production . And as was said numerous times he is so invaluable in getting the defense having to respect him . Plus an excellent blocker. I see no good replacement , not on our roster , not in the draft nor in free agency. Losing that kind of player would be a big step backwby dodgerram - RamsFootballFans.com
Would be a HUGE mistake by Snead and McVay. Watkins is a difference maker , Joyner is a good safety. Can find good safeties everywhere but not a difference maker WR. Go Rams!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!by dodgerram - RamsFootballFans.com

Devastating news. I go back with Grits a long time too. Dont even remember how long. On this board and couple other boards (the old TSN board for example). We talked not only Rams but Dodgers too. How I wish the Dodgers would have won that last game last year just for him. Quoteoldschoolramfan Exactly...............Great move by Snead. Now, how about this scenario. With the saved money, figure out a way to get 2 CB's for the price of one. You can never have too many CB's in this league. Peters and another FA CB would allow us to really get BPA at #23 (LB or OL, DL). Possibly we keep TruJo on a low, team friendly deal. Say, $6-7 Million per year. That's 2 CB's fby dodgerram - RamsFootballFans.com
The money saved by letting TJ go and the cheap contract of Peters should make Gaines affordable. That would not only give us one of the best , if not THE best, cb tandems in the league. If they push the right buttons. They already have some nice talent on the roster, a bonanza of draft picks plus cap space. I can easily see them make a huge turnaround in 2018 and become a powerhouse for years to come. Go Rams!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!by dodgerram - RamsFootballFans.com
I was surprised when DP decided to go for a long 46 yarder in that situation. Up by 5 with just over 60 seconds left , no TO for the Pats I probably would have taken a delay of game penalty and punted the ball. A blocked kick or even only a miss would have given the Pats excellent field position and a short field for the winning TD. IMHO the risk was a lot bigger than the additional 3 pointsby dodgerram - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteXXXIVwin Sigh. What an awesome year, still can’t quite accept its over. Love the comments about McVay’s decision making about who dresses on game days for ST’s. Yet more proof we have an *exceptional* coach. What a special year for GZ, I don’t know how he found his perfect stroke this year, but I hope he can find it again. Keep that WR unit intact for 2018. SW is great in the red zone and if McVay can find ways to target him more we have a true Nr. WR. Need the picks to fill other holes or improve other positions. Go RAms!!!!!!!!!!!!!!by dodgerram - RamsFootballFans.com

3 former RAms QBs still in SB contention this season. Amazing. Just amazing. And all three of them crashed and burned under the same HC. That is what this D needs over the offseason. Here is what I would like to go down: -Try to sign SW to a new contract, if you can not get him to sign put the franchise tag on him. Keep that WR group together. It has down exceptionally well in only year 1 of McVay. IMHO it will only get better . -try to sign TJ longterm to a reasonable contract. Martz turned Az Hakim into a special weapon and I thought McVay could work the same magic with TA. But it is the only criticism I have about our HC. Nobody can do everything , no less in one short season. Go Rams!!!!!!!!by dodgerram - RamsFootballFans.com
I am glad we have Goff. He had a sensational season by any standards. He is young and will be cheap for a couple more years. Could not be happier with any other QB. Garoppolo still has to prove he can put up numbers like Goff did for an entire season though I am pretty sure he is capable doing exact that with Shanahan as his HC.
