I'm not sure why this is a debate. Both approaches have produced good qbs. It's difficult to say which is better. Maybe it depends on the individual. But 1 certain thing is that Fisher takes the slow approach.by PHDram - RamsFootballFans.com
That's my point... That approach is a mistake.by PHDram - RamsFootballFans.com
OK... But then the wheels completely fell off. Much like norv linehan is a good coordinator but not a good leader IMO but maybe I'm wrong or he learned from his mistakes. Either way I don't want to be there guinea pig. And no offense but an interview doesn't tell you everything. Ever hire someone from a good interview to find out you were wrong? Either way I'm just saying look beyond succesby PHDram - RamsFootballFans.com
Without arguing details I agree that some mistakes were made but you seem to imply that the rams make more personnel mistakes then most. I'm not entirely sure that is accurate in terms of the Snead regime. For instance while I wanted jj I thought and still think mccleod was expendable. The mistake IMO was signing the TN corner.by PHDram - RamsFootballFans.com
I thought the passing game would be about where it is but I honestly thought that we would be able to run the ball. Clearly I was wrong. CK has been OK but the interceptions have killed us. Even though some were not his fault I'm ready to see Goff. On defense they have been enigmatic. Sometimes great sometimes not so great. The injuries I think cost us 2 games. I like tru and ej at cornerby PHDram - RamsFootballFans.com
no no. any coach and gm worth their salt knew that dak prescott would go at pick 76 in the 2016 draft and produce like a #1 pick prior to the 2105 season. you need to plan accordingly. fisher sucks!by PHDram - RamsFootballFans.com
yup...hindsight is very sharp it would have been more impressive if you laid out this plan prior to the 2015 season when they signed foles.by PHDram - RamsFootballFans.com
of many others that the rams are just fine.by PHDram - RamsFootballFans.com
you probably should let it bum you out that much.... im sure there are much more important things in your life.by PHDram - RamsFootballFans.com
the truth is out there. its just hard to pinpoint.by PHDram - RamsFootballFans.com
well he had 2...steve mcnair and SB. i guess you can debate if mcnair and SB were/are good. but mcnair is thought of as a success story in nfl circles and SB seems to still be held in high regard around the nfl despite some mediocre stats. thats a hard case to figure out. i wouldnt count young as it is well known that fisher didnt want him and he was basically proven right in that regard.by PHDram - RamsFootballFans.com
ok then just ignore any evidence that is contrary to your personal beliefs. is that not just basically putting your head in the sand? whatever...thats what makes america great!by PHDram - RamsFootballFans.com
unfortunately the truth is often fuzzy and biased by preconceived notions. you are free to criticize or bash all you want. but many posters here seem to think its all or nothing which is rarely the case. fisher does deserve criticism for not winning but every move or thing he does is not wrong nor right. like with real life decisions, its a mix. so i will criticize where warranted and praiseby PHDram - RamsFootballFans.com
perhaps you should review your rules of scientific inquiry. no one said any of those qbs are HOFs (although i think many would argue that mcnair was pretty darn good). however, if each of them produced their best or near best performance under the tutelage of a single coach, does that not provide evidence (not conclusive of course but evidence nonetheless) that said coach was able to get the mby PHDram - RamsFootballFans.com
that being a good coordinator is not indicative of being a good head coach. i think the 2 jobs are completely different. i have know interest in going our=t and getting the next hot coordinator. if we do hire a new head coach, intelligence, leadership, and organization are the three most important qualities imo,by PHDram - RamsFootballFans.com
I thought I'd use the Fisher hater tactics. Actually I have posted it a number of times before..so really what would be the point. For instance if I pointed out that Bradford CK VY and Billy Volek had their best year ever or that Collins and Neil O'Donnell had their third best year ever at like 35 years old under fisher would that change your mind? I doubt it. So why really waste the time.by PHDram - RamsFootballFans.com
Before posting it?by PHDram - RamsFootballFans.com
Or almost. The 2-14 team was only bested by the 1-15 the following year . Be careful what you wish for.by PHDram - RamsFootballFans.com
Perhaps my memory is faulty but I don't recall scoring alot of points when he was the oc for the St Louis Rams.by PHDram - RamsFootballFans.com
While mcdaniels may succeed he hasn't had much success outside of NE where he has perhaps the best qb of all time. Not sure I'd bet on him.by PHDram - RamsFootballFans.com
As with most these arguments posters like to pick out a single aspect without looking at the big picture and then say see I told you so. Those players were 17 percent of the roster and probably the best players on the team. What about the other 83 percent?by PHDram - RamsFootballFans.com
You want to get rid of Fishers 7-9 for a career 11-25. Good lord.by PHDram - RamsFootballFans.com
Maybe, maybe not. But that's not really the question. The real question is why has Goff not played. IMO it's not that he can't it because Fisher doesn't want him to yet.by PHDram - RamsFootballFans.com
Perhaps but there are obviously many other factors that go into wins and losses other than coaching. In terms of Goff it's entirely fisher's decision.by PHDram - RamsFootballFans.com
While it is reasonable to consider it is also worth noting how Fisher has dealt with young qbs in the past. If you do you will find that it is remarkablly similar to his treatment of Goff. So knowing that past behavior is the best predictor of future behavior where would you place your money?by PHDram - RamsFootballFans.com
regardless of what you may think of fisher, im shocked that you or anyone really would say we whiffed on a kid that has yet to play a single down of regular season professional football AND throw in the towel at 3-4.by PHDram - RamsFootballFans.com
