my post about my granddaughter attending the concert in Coachella, Ca. Couple nights ago she was showing me her photos, videos, from the concert, and I asked, "How much were the tickets to that concert". My granddaughter is still in college, she's 20, but has a full time job working with a little boy who has severe autism... so she makes good money - not a fortune, but good. She toby JamesJM - Bucky's Pub
except for perhaps some small venue dinner shows or something like that. But a huge concert at a major venue? Nope... up until yesterday I would have bet big money that I'd never attend another. This one I couldn't resist, however. - JamesJMby JamesJM - Bucky's Pub
what concert tickets cost today for the most popular groups. MY choice is FAR from popular. I don't think anyone on this board would even know the main guy I'm going to see. So I think my cost is HIGH.... other than, he's unique. Jeff Porcaro... great call, Seattle. You nailed it. His "Rosanna Shuffle" is top ten at least, maybe top 5, maybe TOP groove of all time. most will be able to assess the old actors fairly. There was a transition from Stage to Film... and acting style took a while to adjust. Early B&W films had actors performing on film like it was 'stage'.... which comes off to most as 'overacting'. What most today do not see is that even with 'overacting' their talent was extraordinary. There is, after all, 'overacting' and 'overacting'...by JamesJM - Bucky's Pub
that will require an explanation, no? I have not been to a music concert in years. I'm old. Just saw, tonight, the artist who plays my favorite song of all time , (tied with another artist actually), will be at the Hollywood Bowl on Sept 1st. Now I suppose, because I'm VERY behind the times, that cost is nothing, right? But it is for me. Still can't believe I pulled the trigger. Don'by JamesJM - Bucky's Pub
I often get into an argument with my grandsons, (fun stuff, not heated, but never the less serious), about athletes of old and whether or not they could compete today. I think many could. My guess is a lot of you would agree with me there.... Barry Sanders, ED, even as old as Jim Brown - that guy could play today and if you disagree you're a doofus. :laughing BUT... that said, Most proby JamesJM - Bucky's Pub
and in this case, "Apocalypse Now" I didn't just not think it was all that I actually didn't like it... and also thought it was basically masturbation of the mind. Yikes, that was harsh wasn't it? :laughingby JamesJM - Bucky's Pub
Which we very much disagree on.... I agree with you about the French Connection and also Gladiator... even though I enjoyed both. Nothing great about either, IMO. The others I've never seen. For me I'd put at the top: "Aviatar"... which.... this is just ME... sorry if you loved it, was the most shallow, corny, predictable, plot in the history of film. Unforgiven, IMO, is one of the greatest movies of all time. Strikingly brilliant... again IMHO. I was actually blown away when Unforgiven came out followed quickly by Tombstone because I thought westerns had met their demise.. Or do I have them turned around chronologically? As far as Eastwood.... I always thought he had the gift of portraying a specific character fantastically, but nby JamesJM - Bucky's Pub
So sorry you've been going through this for so long, Steve. and I was not like Mama, (women are better at this), I didn't pick up on any signs or hints. Still trying to absorb it, actually. But I do think this.... known you a very long time..... I can say without doubt you're a good man, a man of good character, VERY pleasant disposition. You will get through this... no doubt in my mind atby JamesJM - Bucky's Pub

And later in the series you'll meet Jefferson Davis... and the actor who plays him is even worse, IMHO. I found the acting an odd mix of 'very good' with 'very bad'. I should note: i've been critical of this series, very much so, BUT.... I enjoyed it a lot. I did the same with that old Ted Turner produced movie "Gettysburg". "Gettysburg" is one of my favorite moviesby JamesJM - Bucky's Pub
Whenever I read those detailed mock posts I will nearly always read them twice, or more. Not only because it's a lot of information to process but also - - The first time thru I'm not really able to get to the 'meat' of the post because my mind is stuck on contemplating the work, the effort, they put in to write it all up. My son lives there. But... my son built a home there about 6 years ago, building equity. They now want to move back to the USA BUT.... big problems, bureaucracy problems lingering from the Covid restrictions. "as needed for pain". She had her first physical therapy session yesterday. Took one before.... one 4 hours later and then one that night. It worked well. the stupidest thing in existence... except for me because I keep trying to make them work. In my bedroom I have a smart light, a smart fan, 2 smart outlets. Not one of them worked on the first 1,000 attempts. The one I have now, a ceiling light, would not connect.... for 3, maybe 4 hours, of me trying everything known to man. She had a knee replacement last Tuesday... it went well! But she's on pain pills... I forget what kind, and even though she'll deny it to her dying breath those pills have her in la-la land. Yeah, I've been following the situation with "The Chosen" as well. I can be a little pessimistic so I'm becoming concerned that whatever the legal issues are there isn't going to be a quick resolution. Oh sure, I think season 4 will free-stream, and in the 3 month timeframe Dallas has promised, BUT..... But I'm so biased toward Civil War Era movies, books, that I really don't think you can trust me with an opinion about them. :laughing I like it. But, and as I mentioned, some of the acting is not good at all. Same for a lot of the dialog IMHO. It's beautifully filmed. Incredible sets, costumes, the lighting is phenomenal. my granddaughter is there... with a few friends. I had no idea what the concert was all about. Glass I mean. I found it odd that I had never heard of that movie until seeing it listed on Netflix. I'm stuck right now.....I'm VERY into 3 TV series? Are you on a movie watching binge or is this just normal for you? Last couple of years I've been trying my best to mimic you.... that is, watch lots of movies.
