It is a good list. I would hate to cut Seau and Battle. Would take Green over Chase. Like #8. Has Donnal shown much? Not to me. Is Sims safe? He's shown nada. Trust Fish in D roster. Worry about O decisions.by SoCalRAMatic - RamsFootballFans.com
And opponents ran in us 422 times because we couldn't stop them. A D has to stop the run or an opponent will run every play. It's when defenses get teams in 3rd and longs that good things like sacks, fumbles and INTs happen. Now, one more think about JL's 16 stops. How many were grabbing and being dragged along? We made the right move.by SoCalRAMatic - RamsFootballFans.com
Think that's about right. So, will ten wins be enough? Probably won't win the division. May get us a wild card. If so, are we happy campers?by SoCalRAMatic - RamsFootballFans.com
Great list. Also love Seau and Hill has looked solid outside. Gotta give GRob some praise too. Kid knew he stunk it up last year and worked. He looks amazing in the ground game and adequate on passing downs. If he becomes the next Pace we'll be on the playoffs. BTW, he's the same age as most rookies so I include him. TG30 looked fabulous in his one drive and will have a great year. Very happyby SoCalRAMatic - RamsFootballFans.com
There is no way that Goff waits until year three to start. I very much agree with the game 5 prediction at home against Buffalo. Keenum's looked very good in PS play and played well enough for us to win at the end of last season. We are a run and play D team right now. And we have the horses for our ground game. A giant hound line, TG, BC and MB are all terrific runners. We can rotate them inby SoCalRAMatic - RamsFootballFans.com
I'd be very surprised if Duke blocks as well as BQ. Very.by SoCalRAMatic - RamsFootballFans.com
17, you're right that opposing D's will stack the box against TG30 and Keenum. That's why we're running all those quick slants. It's why Higbee's going to be very important. The other thing is if you stack the box and miss, it's a home run. Gurley's just faster than the D. Tavon is too. Quick hitters with a key block will be TDs. Our offense looks really good so far. You could be right in thatby SoCalRAMatic - RamsFootballFans.com
Really think he breaks ED's record of 2,105. I think he can average 150/game. If my math is right, that's 2,400 yards. I'm serious. He could do it.by SoCalRAMatic - RamsFootballFans.com
Patience my friend. I grew up rooting for the horns from NJ in '72 and it's been quite a journey. I too had Anaheim season tix. I am pretty excited about this year's team. Gurley is the latest RB superstar. McCutcheon to ED, to Marshall to Todd. I was tickled by what he was doing for us last season and he looks faster this year. Look for 2,000 to 2,500 yards for him this year. Our D looks awesomby SoCalRAMatic - RamsFootballFans.com
Great prediction. Makes sense to me. Game 5 at home it is. Now, what if we are 4-0?by SoCalRAMatic - RamsFootballFans.com
Yes, Hayes replaced Long and has outplayed him for a couple of years. Quinn was hurt and replaces his replacement Sims which is a huge upgrade. Tree was hurt so getting him back is like signing a big time FA and he's one of our top defenders. Moving him to the middle makes so much sense. It creates an upgrade at MLB and Baron played like an All Pro in the WOLB position. Best set of LBs we've hadby SoCalRAMatic - RamsFootballFans.com
Herders, don't know who Shaky is scolding, but, whoever it is, please knock it off. This is a great board where we share our thought on a team we all love. Being an admin is a tough job without anyone making it tougher. I appreciate all they do. As should you. Let's make their jobs easier.by SoCalRAMatic - RamsFootballFans.com
You guys are really tough on BQ. Rewatch the games. Look at his blocking. Remember this is a running team with TG30 as option number one. He is a top red zone weapon. Totally frustrating when he gets the dropsies. I get it. I feel it. But, I watch his work on the other plays and smile. When Gurley rushes for 2K this season watch who is getting him to the EZ on the outside. #83.by SoCalRAMatic - RamsFootballFans.com
BQ is going to make the team. He is big, fast and a great blocker. I agree that the first pass from Goff was bad timing. Goff has a lightning release and it's a fastball. The other drop was bad. It certainly makes me unhappy. But he did make a nice catch later for Goff and his blocking is very good. I predict Britt, TA, BQ, Cooper and Marquez are in. I think Spruce is the 6th guy. That is our tby SoCalRAMatic - RamsFootballFans.com
I completely disagree with your tasks that the players we let go were very good to great. Long has been way overpaid, often injured, and his play went from bad to average. Laurinitis was slow and was a drag from behind tackler. Jenkins played very well but got a ridiculous contract that of course we wouldn't dream of matching. And McCleod became a better than average safety but also is being paidby SoCalRAMatic - RamsFootballFans.com
Has Sims shown anything this PS? I really like Seau and hope he makes the team. I fear we try to PS him and he gets snatched.by SoCalRAMatic - RamsFootballFans.com
Good points. I have a crazy, maybe stupid question...why can't Case start and Fiff gets a series or two during games? I never got the idea that the starter gas to be in there for every play. Why? Case does seem way ahead of Goffy right now and that's ok. Mannion is ahead of him too. If we have three good QBs why not use them all? In baseball there's a starter and a bullpen. Maybe Goff canby SoCalRAMatic - RamsFootballFans.com
About BQ, I won't apologize about his drops. They are awful. But, the WR position is about more than being a pass catcher. I think he's one of the better blocking WRs in the NFL. When we play our first game against the Niners we will undoubtably run Gurley early and often as we should with play action passes out of those running sets. I think must if these throws will be to Kendricks, Britt andby SoCalRAMatic - RamsFootballFans.com
Wow that's a lot of negativity I think our D will be a lot better. Laurinitis had lost a step and Tree should easily upgrade the Mike. Chris Long did nearly nothing last season. With Wuinn being out it was the Hayes and Donald show. Getting Quinn back is a Hugh plus. Gaines can make up losing Jenkins and maybe get burned less often. McCleod is meh. Also, if our O improves the D won't be oby SoCalRAMatic - RamsFootballFans.com
I like our QBs right now. I would've drafted RGIII when we had the pick and traded Sam who never impressed me. We would've gotten almost as good a deal and I was very excited about RGIII. But, he has really hurt his knees a lot and his special ability was a rifles arm and 4.3 speed. Beyond that, it seems he's not the best teammate which is a cancer for a QB. Everybody likes Goff including Keenby SoCalRAMatic - RamsFootballFans.com
Every WR doesn't need to run a sub 4.4 40 to make it in the NFL. Quickness, smarts and good hands is enough. Spruce reminds me of a few guys who did well. Wayne Chrebet, who played at my college, Hofstra, was never a speedster. He could catch those quick slants and get you a first down. Amendola, who made Sam look great his rookie year is very comparable. Edelman of the Pats. Steadman Bailey waby SoCalRAMatic - RamsFootballFans.com
Just because he didn't mention BQ doesn't mean he's off the roster. Coaches say all kinds of stuff to motivate players. IMO Spruce has a spot. I think Marquez has a spot because he's good at ST and seemed to catch the balls thrown his way in limited play last year. That leaves BQ, MT, DW, Hill and others fighting for a 6th or seventh spot. I thought Chase played well in first PS game. Aaron Gby SoCalRAMatic - RamsFootballFans.com
Good news on Battle.by SoCalRAMatic - RamsFootballFans.com
Hope Battle is ok. Really liked what I saw from him in preseason action. Think he could be Super LT. Important to have someone who can step in if GRob goes down.by SoCalRAMatic - RamsFootballFans.com
Did you really think pro football players in general are big thinkers? They are highly paid gladiators who smash others with their heads. The few who were somewhat intelligent become announcers. But, these are not where you will find think tankers. I find it hilarious that everyone talks about the complexity of the game and learning the playbook should take years. Really? I don't get why they care if he's 330-340 or 322. If he cab stop the DE from hitting the QB and he cab knock bodies out of the way for TG30 I know I'm happy. If he's gained muscle he'll weigh more. Muscle weighs more than fat. And I agree 10 to 15 pounds on his body is nearly nothing. I was thrilled we drafted him and still am. You have to remember the plan was to start at LG for a season or twby SoCalRAMatic - RamsFootballFans.com
Thanks for posting. Glad there's a story about Ayers. Couple if things though, almost any decent high school player plays both ways. I was a WR and DE. I never left the field. In college, this is different. Also, what is this about his playing DL last year. I don't think I ever saw it. Maybe he rotated in some at DE because Long got hurt, but I saw every game and don't remember him doing it. Heby SoCalRAMatic - RamsFootballFans.com
Nice post. Gaines is super important for sure. We'll see him this week.by SoCalRAMatic - RamsFootballFans.com
One worry I have is our team keeps practicing against 4-3 defenses, but for our opener against SF we'll face a very strong 3-4. How do we get ready for that?by SoCalRAMatic - RamsFootballFans.com
I give Goff an incomplete. Our guys didn't block well enough or catch his passable a to grade his performance. Sometimes stats don't tell the whole story. I loved the one throw down field. He has a very strong arm and that was a deep strike. Glad he was really hurt and look forward to his second try. Mannion looked very good. And Keenum played well enough to keep the status quo.
