If I remember right, believe Greg the leg was an UDFA. Crazy huh?by azramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
Here's a link. Splittin hairs really but from what I remember through the years 34" or longer was always preferred. Does Arm Length Affect OT Play? BY NATE WASHUTA • AUG 6, 2013 Editor’s note: Guest contributor Nate Washuta was invited to share his thoughts on the subject. Every year, draft picks rise and fall because of their physical attributes. College kids show up at the cby azramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
I had never heard of this position name either. Interesting thank you for the insight.by azramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
Far as I know, Raymond was not drafted. Either was Gerald Willis. Must be PED or Drugs on Willis. Not sure on Raymond but would love to sign him.by azramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
His arms measured 33 3/8 at combine, hence the short arm comment. I'm pretty sure 34" and greater is the norm for OT. Evans are 34 3/4" and he is only 6-4. But this isn't a deal breaker as I am sure there are starting NFL OT that are good to great with shorter arms than 34". Athleticism and technique can make up for height and short arms.by azramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
Comment made before we drafted Gaines. As it stands now we have drafted one Senior and 5 Juniors (2 RS JR and 3 True JR). Got 7th round picks and will probably pick up Seniors there though. It will be a young class compared to our recent other clases.by azramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
Love our OL depth now. We just draft tackles and plug em in to play OG. Have a plethora of athletic OT now with Noteboom, Evans, and Edwards. And all in time to train another year with Whitworth before he retires. Great timing. Now just gotta figure out who the back up center is? Probably Blythe.by azramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
We only have 6 DL on the roster and that includes our new NT Gaines. We need another bad as we will carry 6 or maybe 7 DL on the regular season roster. Also, only 4 ILB and that includes Mathews. Travin Howard I don't think will make it. We will carry 4 during the season. We need another body there. Also 3rd TE as you point out. Have plenty of corners. Wouldn't want to draft another and have to eby azramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
Yep, I hope injury is the case he had a down junior year. I had read that earlier. He's a really good athlete and we all know he had great coaching at Wisconsin. Our OL depth looks promising now.by azramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
Looks like we are set on OL now. Bobby Evans will back up OG-OT with Demby and Edwards will probably be OT exclusive. Looks like Blythe will be our backuo center as we have nine linemen now and I don't think we will carry a 10th. But you never know. Hopefully now we get another DT to throw into the mix along with ILB or 3rd TE. Only have two 7th round picks though so we won't get everything doneby azramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
Another Junior. Wisconsin OL. Probably good value in rd 5 but has been dropping. David Edwards had terrible junior year though. Former TE and real good athlete though. Probably looking to coach him up.by azramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
Just read an article that he was managing like 5 injuries and had 3 off season operations to fix. The front office doesnt sound to confident he is returning. He has been the one receiver through the years on that team that has killed us Such a great player and only 30 years old. Totally respect the dude.by azramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
Boom, there is my NT. Was hoping for Daylon Mack but clearly they had Greg Gaines above him. We really needed another NT body and we really need another DT body as well. With probably only two picks left we may have to wait and sign a veteran. Likin our draft so far.by azramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
3 true juniors and 1 redshirt junior (Bobby Evans). Young class in age. So much for the theory they we were stuck drafting only seniors. Didn't think Safety was that big a need or RB but defer to the brains of the outfit (Mcvay-Snead) on that. I like all the picks though. Especially our new CB and OT-OG who I had targeted in the third myself.by azramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
This move states nothing about Noteboom. It is for depth now that Noteboom and Allen are starters this year. They were our depth last year and slowly developed the right way to be starters in their 2nd years. If anything, we need one more linemen considering Demby is basically our only other depth on OL. There are a few others but Demby has one of the back up spots right now and it would help toby azramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
That is phenominal! They only went after him 10% of the time and only completed about 30% of their passes when going at him. Incredible.by azramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
Can play Tackle or Guard. He will be our swingman on game days like Noteboom was last year. DL in the 4th then. Maybe Daylon Mack is around then.by azramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
Still got OG Mcgovern and Jordan, OT Bobby Evans, and DT Wren and Mack . Available. I want one of them next, preferably Mcgovern, Evans or Jordan next.by azramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
THey drafted him to play outside. Both Peters and Talib contracts are up next year. Troy Hill contract is up as well. Had to draft someone. Just like the Allen and Noteboom selections last year.by azramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
"In 595 coverage snaps in his three seasons at Michigan, he was targeted 60 times and allowed all of 18 receptions – the vast majority of which were throws underneath – for 130 yards and a passer rating of 24.3,” Renner says of Long. “On targets 10-plus yards downfield, Long yielded only four completions on 29 attempts for 59 yards while breaking up 13. Those stats are out of this world.”by azramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
Guy was crazy productive.by azramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
Love this pick. It was him or Justin Layne for me at CB. Best pick so far.by azramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
Saw that PFF was included in the Fanspeak draft now so decided to run through a simulation this morning. Think I would be fine with this haul. 31: R1P31 DL DEXTER LAWRENCE CLEMSON 94: R3P30 C ERIK MCCOY TEXAS A&M 99: R3P35 EDGE JACHAI POLITE FLORIDA 133: R4P31 S JOHNATHAN ABRAM MISSISSIPPI STATE 169: R5P31 CB TRAYVON MULLEN CLEMSON (Could have also taken Lonnie Johnson of KY) 203by azramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
I hear you but I think Lawrence can push the pocket back in time, he has that much ability. He's not a normal nose. He's only a 10th off Tillerys 40 time and that pulling up. He's like another Hloti Ngata. But I have 100% faith in Les and Sean. They will get the pick right. We will see soon. Just hope it isn't a shocker.by azramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
He could dominate. 6-4 342 who run a 5.05 40 and come up lame at the finish don't grow on trees. He could command double teams consistently by year two, especially if Aaron teaches him a few tricks.by azramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
Totally agree, its Lawrence, Tillery, or Simmons. Tillery can run and rush the passer so moving Brockers to NT makes total sense. If all three are gone I think they trade back into 2nd and take best OL or CB available. They may still take Simmons if he lasts to their pick. They have no friggin OL depth and that has to be a priority too. What makes it worse is they have no cap room left either soby azramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
