I agree with those players, but after that I am realistic. HC's will hire the guys they want on staff, thus I just do not see any of the coaches being retained. This is going to be the right hing to do. Personnel decisions are one thing, coaching staff is another story. After watching the Rams give another game away late, and giving the 49's their 2nd win of the season. I go to the restroom to throw up. Totally agree.........Shanahan's have a lot of ceredbility for me. That's exactly what this team needs. I really think Kyle will get the Rams players excited. It will be the shot in the arm this team needs for energy. Plus, Kyle is not a "RE-TREAD" coach. He has his father's drive and intensity (which I love), but he is his own type of coach. IMHO...........This would be a great way to go for the Rams. Kyle has been around the NFL his entire life. The Rams players all know the name Shanahan. Kyle will bring discipline and accountability to a team that desperately needs it. He's also young, so he will bring enthusiasm and an energy with him. Both will bring instant credibility to the Rams Coaching ranks. I still think there is a big possibility the David Shaw is up there in the top 3. 1. Gruden 2. Either Harbaugh John or Jim. 3. David Shaw. When you go and look over David Shaw's resume', you really get a much better feel for the guy. IMHO, he would be a very good hire. He won't take the job unless he feels it's the absolute perfect place to be HC in the NFL. It has to be the "Perfect Storm" for Gruden to accept it. That's why I have no worries if he accepts it.by oldschoolramfan - RamsFootballFans.com

When coaches go in for an interview, you do not think they are asked "Who will be your OC and DC?" Sorry, but I am sure that if Gruden says "I will listen to the Rams for the HC position." Then, he will come in with a list of coaches that he has already talked to and said, Sure, if you get the L.A. Job, I will be on the staff." To me, Gruden's ability to go get NFL caliber Asst.Coaches is his biggest asset. He will surround himself with a very,very good staff and that is why I am hoping he is the pick when it's all said and done. Gruden himself will be the teams personality. If you are looking for a solid, traditional type of hire for a HC. You want a change in the personnel decisions at GM. Goff and Mannion........... If Mannion gets the start this week, I really hope he lights it up and shows that he can get the job done. That would be the best thing that could happen vs. the 49's.
