For the sake of argument, let's say AD wants $21M per year. Are the Rams a better team with AD or another $21M per year FA. Or two $14M per year FAs. Or three $7M per year FAs. etc. Imagine plugging that $21M into the OL...by CeeZar - RamsFootballFans.com
I keep logging on and waiting to see you post an article about AD signing a contract and reporting to the team. Please drop whatever you are doing and give us all the good news.by CeeZar - RamsFootballFans.com
AD missed training camp and preseason. He is not re-acclimated to football and gets hurt in the first game.by CeeZar - RamsFootballFans.com
30 is not too old for a DB, although it is getting there. One has to wonder why they couldn't get anything in trade for him. You'd think he would still be worth a 6th round pick.by CeeZar - RamsFootballFans.com
Any team that traded for AD would have to go through the same thing the Rams are now with his contract. So his value would be extremely diminished - likely to the point of not making a trade worth while. The only way that changes is if AD agreed to a contract with new team before the deal was done. And IMO, the only way a trade could get done with any team.by CeeZar - RamsFootballFans.com
But my gut tells me you are right. We can only speculate about his motives. IMHO the request for an opt out after three years is more likely to be about winning than signing a newer and bigger contract. So he would be giving the Rams three years to turn the ship around or he is going to bolt for a winner. He doesn't want to have Jackson's carrier. Hard to blame him for thinking that way.by CeeZar - RamsFootballFans.com
I thought it was PI at first too. But Watkins briefly arm bars the CB and the CB briefly grabs Watkins arm. Without the initial arm bar, probably PI. With the arm bar, just letting the boys play. Although the refs were so horrible in that game, they probably didn't see any of it.by CeeZar - RamsFootballFans.com

ONE team decided Suh was worth that money. One team's decision does not make "the market". By your logic "the market" set the salary for a gadget player with bad hands that can't run routes at $10M+/year. In 2009, a long time ago by salary standards, the Redskins signed Haynesworth for 7 years, $100M, or over $14M/year. But that ONE deal did not set the market. How manyby CeeZar - RamsFootballFans.com
Last year, this year, whatever. It's preseason. Ask me in November if he looks like the franchise QB he was drafted to become.by CeeZar - RamsFootballFans.com
None of us know AD. Yeah, maybe he wants an opt out to make more money if the market for the best DT in the game changes dramatically somehow. But then again, maybe he wants a ring. After playing 3 years and earning ~$60M he will be set for life financially. If the opt out he is asking for makes him a FA, he can then go to the team with the best change to win it all and still make plenty oby CeeZar - RamsFootballFans.com
First, I'd say that his lack of route-running skill means he needs more time to get ready, not less. If the guy could run decent routes already, he'd might not need much time. I'm sure McVay has the ability to get more out of Tavon than Fischer did. When Tavon was productive, he was one of two offensive weapons, now he will be one of five. So the question is whether or not he will be worth takby CeeZar - RamsFootballFans.com

Here, just west of St. Louis, we'll get totality for 1:51. Forecast now is partly cloudy during early afternoon. I have some eclipse glasses that I hope are legit. I've "tested" them and they seem OK. I don't think I'll really be looking at the that much though. The more interesting thing will be how weird the yard and woods look when the lighting goes indirect. I'm also interested tby CeeZar - Bucky's Pub
Great play by the CB here. He did hold Sammy's arm for just a second. Long enough though. You can see the play at ~ -3:30:00 of the full game replay.by CeeZar - RamsFootballFans.com
Defender was holding Sammy's right arm. Regardless, it was a perfect pass.by CeeZar - RamsFootballFans.com
Funny how a play like that is exciting when it gains 9 yards instead of 3. Sullivan is in there too, I think he is the guy immediately in front of Gurley. He's just hard to see with the mass of humanity behind him.by CeeZar - RamsFootballFans.com
Last year the weakest unit on the team was the OL and the weakest positions were LT and C. The second weakest unit on the team was WR. Perhaps worse than both were the offensive coaching staff, coordinators, philosophy. The defense was good last year, but should be better this year just with the addition of SonOfBum. I don't know what their record will be this year. But I do know it will beby CeeZar - RamsFootballFans.com

Not because it was great in an absolute sense. The OL this year will probably be just an average unit, plus or minus a bit. I was thrilled because an average unit will be such a huge upgrade over what we've been watching these last couple of years.by CeeZar - RamsFootballFans.com
They sure had some nice runs to the left last night, both to the outside and through the gaps. We didn't see them run that way with the starters in game 1. While I think we all know that they will run better to the left than right with this OL, it was nice to see it in action. On that 9 yard run by Gurley where the pile moved about 7 of those yards, it was Whitworth at first then joined by Safby CeeZar - RamsFootballFans.com
http://www.spotrac.com/nfl/los-angeles-rams/tavon-austin-12288/ I'm not very good with the cap. Looking at 2018, is there a way not to take that $5M cap hit if he doesn't get the roster bonus? If the Rams have to pay him that $5M then they only save $3M by cutting him after 2017. So he may be safe for 2018 as well.by CeeZar - RamsFootballFans.com
I would think that it would be comparably easy to fix ball security with some technique work than to plump up those cajones enough to take on a blitzing LB or S mano a mano.by CeeZar - RamsFootballFans.com
My niece just took the silver medal in the Junior Olympics in the hammer throw. She'll be a junior in high school this fall and has only been throwing for about a year so has a lot of work to do on her technique. She also throws shot and discuss, but the hammer is her best event. I'd love to see her make the Olympics one day. We're hoping that she'll at least get a full-ride scholarship. I shoot Glocks well, but don't like the way they feel and don't enjoy shooting them much for some reason. I may need to borrow a couple and go to a GSSF event to see if I can win one. Since I don't own a .45 or a Glock, I'd kind of like to get a G21. Especially since my wife has a .45 (Sig P220 Stainless Elite) and I feel like my man-card is in jeopardy when she shoots it :spintoungeby CeeZar - Bucky's Pub
