SJD came of age last year and has improved further this year. He is a very nice rotation piece in that DL. Glad we have him for 2021 as well. Could be one of those midrange FAs they can afford to extend.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
I have always felt that you don't need a team to be top 10 in all three areas- offense, defense and special teams- to be a true contender. But you also cannot be bottom 10 in anything.... The fact that they are one of the 2-3 worst ST units in the league is concerning. A missed XP vs. Seattle seems trivial but it's not. The KOR they allowed out to midfield- what if that had gone all the way?by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
Maybe so. And I hope you're right. He could be a good WR2 on several teams. And a team that views him that way will have to pay a bit more. Would love to end up with a 5th round comp. for him. I just still think anything better than that is unlikely.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
Can they run the ball well? And can they get the ball to Higbee and Everett? I'd love to see 150+ rushing yards and 10+ catches between those two. Tall task, though. I would also run up tempo most of the first half to try and wear down the Bucs DL a bit.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
I looked at a few FA WRs from this past year that had similar production. A couple got deals in the $6-8M range. Others $1-2M. Depends on the situation. Of course the unknown of the 2021 cap is part of it too.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
Yes, 1978 they each had 8 INTs. They combined for 45 INTs from 1978-82. Green and Irvin in 1985 (6 INTs each) would also be up there among their best CB duos.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
Great seeing him contribute so well and make himself some money in 2021. But do you really see him getting a big enough deal to net us a 3rd round comp. pick. Would have to be a $10-12M+/year deal. I think he gets us a 6th rounder.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
This team just cannot take on another $12M+ extension in 2021. They can't. Dumping Brockers saves them $4.7M (though they eat $5.1M). I think you hope for the best with Floyd and wish him well when he gets a big deal elsewhere in March and the Rams get the 97th-99th (comp.) pick in 2022 for him.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com

I actually think the ideal kickoff is one that's hit high and lands one yard deep into the endzone. Because returners will bring that out almost every time and you should have a good shot to pin someone inside their 20. Zuerlein was obviously a really good kicker overall and on kickoffs. But his touchback percentage wasn't THAT much greater in his prime (66.2% from 2013-2018) than what the Raby LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
I agree. It's not about 10 years. It's about 2020. Then IF, say, MacGinnis does well then they have him- potentially- for 2021-2023 as well if they want. And with Lirim H. I don't think him being 30 plays into it at all. If he was seen as the guy they could have him for the next several years too. 33-year old kickers aren't old.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
Hopefully the fact that they were given Monday and Tuesday off and now today will stay away from the facility it will be minimized. I would guess they might do so Thursday as well, hoping to practice Friday and Saturday.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
Am I the only one that didnt know until listening to Jourdans 11 Personnel podcast a couple hours ago that Rapp was even hurt? I saw the game at a sports bar without audio so guess I missed that one.... she said 4 weeks for him.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
3rd out of 120... They have Ramsey 21st and Troy Hill 60th.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
4 of Rams next 5 are indoors. Let the kid see what he can do. If he can't hit XP I would honestly just start going for two every TD.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
Just looking at how the Rams seem to be settling in with using the RB rotation, I expect them to end up something like this: Henderson- 930 yards, 22 receptions Brown- 620 yards, 30 receptions Akers- 450 yards, 5 receptions Keep in mind how much the RBs production in the passing game fell off a cliff last year (37 receptions for 260 yards) after being such a big part of the offense in 20by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
I hope they don't have to use Higbee to help him. This offense does better when Higbee is involved in the passing game... Definitely could mean more 12 personnel early on, though.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
I hate seeing Whitworth be out as much as anyone. But, for the Rams, this is exactly the trial-by-fire audition that Noteboom needs. Assuming this is at least 5 games, maybe more, it will give the Rams a much clearer view into what they do or do not have in Noteboom for 2021. Personally, I think he's going to do alright. He is clearly better suited for LT than OG (though he held his own the fby LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
These were their Football Outsiders rankings by ST category before Sunday.... FG/XP- 31st Kick coverage- 28th Kick return- 19th Punt coverage- 23rd Punt return- 31st Yikes.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
Things are not going well.... If not for Hekker being Hekker and Webster doing alright as a returner the special teams overall are a total disaster.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
Yes, but calling him an important piece in 2020 and paying him in 2021 will be two VERY different things. If he keeps going and finishes with 12-13 sacks on one of the top 3 defenses in the league he will line up for a major payday. Long way to go but at this point I would lean more toward looking into extending D. Williams for 2022 and beyond and dipping back into the Draft with a 2nd roundby LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
If you're talking about where they could use improvement down the stretch, yeah, ILB and kicker would top their list. But if by "needs" you mean 2021 I would have to disagree. Kiser could be better but he's also not a liability. And he has room to improve next year. Same with Young. Conversely, on the Edge Floyd and Ebukam will be UFAs leaving with them Lewis, Hollins, and..... thatby LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
The Rams gave up 78 yards on that opening TD. They gave up 75 yards on the final drive when they were going into some prevent mode. Rest of the game? 180 yards and 6 points (including a 61-yard FG). And again don't forget the pick-6 called back on the offsides... I was worried after that first drive but they really settled in quickly after that and dominated.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
As always, the Rams have to run the ball well and consistently for this offense to work. They didn't quite have that balance yesterday (43 pass play calls to 26 runs) though the RBs did OK (4.3 YPC). Goff is 4-10 under McVay when he throws the ball 40+ times. He is 24-4 when throwing 33 times or less. And his three worst QBR games under McVay are with 40+ attempts. Pretty clear what they needby LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
Both Tampa and the Rams are looking up in their divisions and while each still could win division titles right now this game looks more like a battle for the 5th seed (who would play @Eagles) vs. 6th seed (likely @Saints or Packers). For the Rams I still think it's simply about winning two of the next three NFC games. Really doesn't matter which ones but win 2 of 3.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
From a quick search looks like depends on the grade tear (1-3) but I would guess he's looking at at least 6 weeks. So potentially back for the season finale and/or playoffs?by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
Miami was also a road game on a short week (6 days) in high heat. Rams are 3-1 overall on Monday Night, including 1-0 on the road (and 4-3 on Sunday Night) under McVay. So they have been good overall on prime time. Big challenge next week, though.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
