I cant speak to his abilities. I dont (for sad but obvious reasons) dont watch college ball. HOWEVER I saw his draft room. His style etc... why ANY team would want that if they have even a SHADOW of a doubt of his skill level? I dont know if they reached. Or if they miss-picked. Or if they got too cute and missed a stud we REALLY needed. All things that has happened before but, I kind of feel that after the last few years when they have had a decade to truly refine their scouting and drafting strategy we really should give them the benefit of the doubt until we see otherwise... Well I WAS at the game in 2012 in London THAT DOES NOT EXIST!!!! No I don't see any logical issue with that sentence:-) I dont hope Rams will play in Europe again soon, also for the sake of most of this board but a trip to London or Berlin is easier to handle over the weekend in autumn and winter than the US sadly... Thats exactly where i stand, but even I didnt (and this is not abut Atwell as such) It just seems to me that on occasion it gets... personal... with him fi. and I am trying to understand why, since even if i would be ok or even happy with him trade or cut (and Im not quite there yet) I would never be so vehement abut him as some people seem to be. To be a riff on any specific player or their ability. I don't mind criticism of players on the field. Where else SHOULD they get criticism? My "concern" is where that seen to go from criticism of a players ability into taking near personal offense at their existence in the squad and on occasion nearly their very being as a football player. Let me preface this by saying that I know I'm still one of the new, young kids on this board and certainly not one of the "big" or more insightful members so I might be somewhat out of line but there is something I have noticed that I am getting genuinely curious about, so I wanted to have people's opinion. Lets say Stafford DOES blindside us and retires after this year. Possible. Depending on injury or if we DO win SB, or whatever. I trust McSnead enough that they have a plan for that and wont need to panic if it happens. So drafting a kid this year who might then have to sit for up to two seasons, UTTERLY derailing his progress even IF he studies under Stafford, by inactivity rather than pickby DanishRam - RamsFootballFans.com

This is why i wanted to point out that it was not in any way meant at a dig at you. Because all your points are valid, intelligent and reasonable. It just ain't gonna happen. If they want ANY QB in this draft? We trade up for it and say screw it to the capital we need. But we wont.. Because that's CLEARLY not what they have in mind. Rams are NOT, 100% positively spending draft capital on a potential starter QB this year. They just arent. Its a SB window and they will work towards that by filling BPA in certain roles. (Leaving aside my standing belief that we wont draft our next QB anyway but trade like with Stafford.) We have built our ENTIRE offensive identity around Matthew Stafford and unless someone corrects me andby DanishRam - RamsFootballFans.com

I still don't think they are going to draft Stafford's replacement but trade for him like with Stafford himself. Just how I read the team and what McVay want to do. So I would certainly be CONTENT with a QB but I would be DEEPLY surprised. Shocked even. Its just funny to me how "number obsessed" American sports are. Here? Not just soccer but any sports really, players change numbers at least 3-4 times in their career.
