Now THAT goes way way back. I remember him doing the L.A.Angel games when they were a PCL minor league team and played in South Central on Avalon Blvd. I also remember him doing the 1950 NFL championship game from Cleveland when Groza beat Waterfield's rams on a 49 yd FG.by waterfield - RamsFootballFans.com

Did what look different than the old days-my wife? Yes. If you meant the Coliseum -to be honest I had not been there since the 84 Olympics. My last Ram game was sometime during the 70s. If I recall the Coliseum used to have bench seating. That's how long ago it was. The basic structure is the same with the tunnels and all. Most of the changes are in the peristyle end with some kind of food cby waterfield - RamsFootballFans.com

No question swim races are far less of a spectator sport than the track and field. One reason is they are -for the most part -submerged. And it doesn't make for good tv either because you need a 3d tv set to distinguish the middle lanes. The overhead camera from the ceiling is good but even then you need to know who to follow and which lanes they are in. But that's just swimming. Always has beenby waterfield - Bucky's Pub
I thought at the time and the video appears consistent with the fact that Spruce actually "intercepted" that pass designed for the slant guy heading to the end zone.by waterfield - RamsFootballFans.com
Curious what those who were there thought of him. I know its my getting older and becoming a curmudgeon but I found his over enthusiastic yelling irritating-as if he was announcing to a stadium of 12 yr olds. Other than that it was overall a wonderful experience to be there and not just see a Coliseum football game but the Rams no less. My last Ram game there was sometime in the 70s. If you come from a swimming family you can easily prefer watching the races in the water. I know I do. Same with my friends who actually played water polo at USC -they are fine tuned into the entire water polo matches-even those not involving the USA because they have actually played against some of the Euro guys. They are glued to matches and will easily choose them over the track and field stuby waterfield - Bucky's Pub
You pay and you get this long number which in essence tells you where to go to find your tap card. It can be anywhere w/i a 100 yd radius. Once you get the card you then go to the metro station. When the Metro arrives you then "tap" on the door a prescribed number of times and it lets you in. I know it sounds involved but its really a lot of fun. And that's what its all about-right. is in fact number 7. NO. 7 was Bob Waterfield who was throwing those passes not Van Brocklin. But was happy to see No. 1-the VanBrocklin to Fears pass-because that happened right in front of me-a little kid of course.by waterfield - RamsFootballFans.com
Maybe because we were there so early-around 2:45 pm. But we hung around the peristyle until at least 3: 30-maybe a littler earlier before moving on to our seats. I kept asking people "are you with the Rams Herd board". No one ever heard of it. My wife finally said "your embarrasing and walked away. We were a couple of hours early so could do it. But when we got off the Metro going TO the Coliseum-instead of going directly to the stadium we went to the TAP machine and loaded the cards so we wouldn't have to fight the line after the game.by waterfield - RamsFootballFans.com

Was at the game and I can't recall Mannion throwing anything deep. Does he have that kind of arm? I know little about him but it appeared to me everything was short and either to Spruce or Higbee-both of whom seem like players.by waterfield - RamsFootballFans.com
His throws were precise with steam. He has a great arm and is extremely accurate. The interception was because he was hit while throwing. He will be a very good qb for a long time. Lets not either rush him or judgments on him.by waterfield - RamsFootballFans.com
I hope they keep him. Nothing flashy just catches balls and moves forward.by waterfield - RamsFootballFans.com
Can I use that same Tap card now for other games if I simply re-load it each time?by waterfield - RamsFootballFans.com
Agree with all that especially the comments on Goff and Higbee-who really looks good. Goff showed why he was drafted No 1 with that long pass to Cooper-who dropped it. It was a rocket and perfectly located. I think they might be showcasing Mannion. BTW: did I hear the public address announcer call announce Goff and "Goof"?by waterfield - RamsFootballFans.com
For seniors was only $1.75. Now that's not bad either. We had a late dinner at our favorite steakhouse and the place was filled with Ram fans. Much like after a USC game.by waterfield - RamsFootballFans.com
We live in San Juan Capistrano and drove to downtown early. Because of the clogged freeways we got off and drove through the industrial section of L.A. on side streets to an $8.00 all day parking near the Metro at 7th and Flower. Then took the rail to the game. Simple ! But leaving-not so simple. Metro really crowed. BTW: I did not care for the public address announcer. Nice post James. Yep-the Stanford swimmer was great not only the swim but the award ceremony. And what an inspiration for African American children. No less in a sport where so many claimed African Americans would never be good enough to compete due to physical characteristics, etc. Truly inspiring. Then again she is clearly a bright girl by the way she speaks and the fact she's at Stanford. Aby waterfield - Bucky's Pub
but did anyone happen to see the meteor shower last night? 200 meteors per hour streaked through our sky. And I'm sure Goff was fascinated.by waterfield - Bucky's Pub
James: You actually think the owner would buy that or Snead? After all that dough they committed? He's more than likely to be starting no later than the 3rd game and probably earlier. Maybe the first game.by waterfield - RamsFootballFans.com
