I like our QBs right now. I would've drafted RGIII when we had the pick and traded Sam who never impressed me. We would've gotten almost as good a deal and I was very excited about RGIII. But, he has really hurt his knees a lot and his special ability was a rifles arm and 4.3 speed. Beyond that, it seems he's not the best teammate which is a cancer for a QB. Everybody likes Goff including Keenby SoCalRAMatic - RamsFootballFans.com
Every WR doesn't need to run a sub 4.4 40 to make it in the NFL. Quickness, smarts and good hands is enough. Spruce reminds me of a few guys who did well. Wayne Chrebet, who played at my college, Hofstra, was never a speedster. He could catch those quick slants and get you a first down. Amendola, who made Sam look great his rookie year is very comparable. Edelman of the Pats. Steadman Bailey waby SoCalRAMatic - RamsFootballFans.com
Just because he didn't mention BQ doesn't mean he's off the roster. Coaches say all kinds of stuff to motivate players. IMO Spruce has a spot. I think Marquez has a spot because he's good at ST and seemed to catch the balls thrown his way in limited play last year. That leaves BQ, MT, DW, Hill and others fighting for a 6th or seventh spot. I thought Chase played well in first PS game. Aaron Gby SoCalRAMatic - RamsFootballFans.com
Good news on Battle.by SoCalRAMatic - RamsFootballFans.com
Hope Battle is ok. Really liked what I saw from him in preseason action. Think he could be Super LT. Important to have someone who can step in if GRob goes down.by SoCalRAMatic - RamsFootballFans.com
Did you really think pro football players in general are big thinkers? They are highly paid gladiators who smash others with their heads. The few who were somewhat intelligent become announcers. But, these are not where you will find think tankers. I find it hilarious that everyone talks about the complexity of the game and learning the playbook should take years. Really? I don't get why they care if he's 330-340 or 322. If he cab stop the DE from hitting the QB and he cab knock bodies out of the way for TG30 I know I'm happy. If he's gained muscle he'll weigh more. Muscle weighs more than fat. And I agree 10 to 15 pounds on his body is nearly nothing. I was thrilled we drafted him and still am. You have to remember the plan was to start at LG for a season or twby SoCalRAMatic - RamsFootballFans.com
Thanks for posting. Glad there's a story about Ayers. Couple if things though, almost any decent high school player plays both ways. I was a WR and DE. I never left the field. In college, this is different. Also, what is this about his playing DL last year. I don't think I ever saw it. Maybe he rotated in some at DE because Long got hurt, but I saw every game and don't remember him doing it. Heby SoCalRAMatic - RamsFootballFans.com
Nice post. Gaines is super important for sure. We'll see him this week.by SoCalRAMatic - RamsFootballFans.com
One worry I have is our team keeps practicing against 4-3 defenses, but for our opener against SF we'll face a very strong 3-4. How do we get ready for that?by SoCalRAMatic - RamsFootballFans.com
I give Goff an incomplete. Our guys didn't block well enough or catch his passable a to grade his performance. Sometimes stats don't tell the whole story. I loved the one throw down field. He has a very strong arm and that was a deep strike. Glad he was really hurt and look forward to his second try. Mannion looked very good. And Keenum played well enough to keep the status quo. Liked the RBs bby SoCalRAMatic - RamsFootballFans.com
I would bring him in for a work out to see what he has. Can he still run? Could he be signed at a fair price? How is Gaines feeling? Can Sensabaugh play better? Can Joyner play outside? How about Robertson or the other kid? I do think that as a former DB, Fish does know secondary like no other. It's the number one area where I trust his expertise.by SoCalRAMatic - RamsFootballFans.com
I agree. Our back up OL missed some assignments. Glad our QB didn't get killed. Would like to see Goff behind our starting OL. Otherwise it's apples and oranges.by SoCalRAMatic - RamsFootballFans.com
I can see Making an argument against Snisher's drafting, but criticizing the Gurley pick? Getting the best RB in the NFL with the tenth pick was genius. Yes, he has a reconstructed knee, but it's fixed and he's going to dominate the league for years to come. Only Adrian Pederson can challenge this kid. A transcendent player at any position is a super plus when you build a team. TG30 is such a tby SoCalRAMatic - RamsFootballFans.com
I think Spruce makes the team in that we need a nifty guy with good hands. He will actually fill Steadman's role. As garza Quick, he threw some really nice blocks. When Gurley is playing, we will be a running team and Quick and Britt both block really well. Tavon is a RB/WR home run threat weapon and has to be on the field. Don't see those guys losing their starting roles. I do think Higbee wilby SoCalRAMatic - RamsFootballFans.com
Goff is not a runner. He had nifty feet so he can sidestep rushers to buy time. On that Int sack he looked middle and left and was hit from behind by an unblocked blitzed as he was throwing. That can't be on him at all. First, somebody, usually the RB, has to pick up the blitzer. If the first target was open the ball would've been out way before he got smashed. So, blame the scheme, or the blownby SoCalRAMatic - RamsFootballFans.com
I think the Rams like Kush the Tush as the backup center. He looks huge and love his wardrobe. He is hilarious and HBO decides who is on our team. As far as back up PK. We already have a guy doing that too. Not sure if he's actual competition, but he's in camp. If there's a better option out there we'll probably bring him in fro tryout. I don't know what went wrong with GZ last season. Hope itby SoCalRAMatic - RamsFootballFans.com
Sorry Zack. That was kind of negative. Welcome to the horns and best of luck.by SoCalRAMatic - RamsFootballFans.com
Actually GZ is a great subject. Seemed like a future HOF as a rookie with the combo of incredible power and accuracy. He made all his kicks for a good portion of that first season. I know he was injured. How big a part does that play? Are we going for too many super long ones? Maybe trying and missing 60 yarders shakes his confidence in the gimmees. Does he need to practice more or less? Doby SoCalRAMatic - RamsFootballFans.com
Nope. You're right. Mariotta had a good rookie year and the Titans were dreadful. Peyton had a terrible record his first year. Most rookie QBs do. Now, here's the spin...TA was a 1-8 pick as WR and scored 10 TDs last year. Britt was also a first rounder. Quick was the 33rd pick, one pick away from being a first rounder so these were highly sought after talents. The rest not so much. Now, whatby SoCalRAMatic - RamsFootballFans.com
And a great thought. Could be the new rules. But, I'd bet Pete C is having guys tackle in Seattle. BelI-I-Cheat for sure doesn't care about the rules. Love to see what the Brincos and Panthers do. The Steekers too. I'd stay within the rules, but, do you remember the Skins game? The ran fir like 200 yards in us. It looked like we had no practice. We seem to come on strong deeper in the season,by SoCalRAMatic - RamsFootballFans.com
Fab report!! Thanks Hacksaw. Hope Quick pulls it together like Saturday night. We do need his blocking and red zone skills. I wonder what goes on in his head. Is it that he feels he'll keep his job? If so, why? Is it he doesn't fear his new competition? Is so, sounds like the newbies can play. Is it nothing is going on in his head? Is the effort there? If I were him I'd be at practice earlyby SoCalRAMatic - RamsFootballFans.com
Fish has been quoted as leaving tackling for that first ore-season game and usually the tackling is poor for the game and gets better in the next practice games. Wondering why. Isn't tackling a very important skill in football? Like in tackling, blocking, passing, running and kicking? If there are 5 skills why only practice four? I certainly get that we want to keep away from injury and the neby SoCalRAMatic - RamsFootballFans.com
How can anyone bench over 400 pounds without PEDs? Can't. Well, maybe he can get a few stops in goal line assignments before being suspended.by SoCalRAMatic - RamsFootballFans.com
First, never heard of this radio guy. But, it's not his job to give accurate draft analysis. Want that listen to Mayock. This radio guy is there to entertain. He'll say whatever to increase listeners which increase ratings which increase revenue. Years ago news was given based of cold hard provable facts. Reporters researched stories and quoted experts. Decent article, but didn't the Rams add a slew of WRs since this past off-season? Yes, two were drafted, but most probably one or more of our UFAs will make the team. No mention of Marquez? Think the TE position was glossed over as well. I think he has more talent to work with than the author hints at. Not established pros like the Bears had with a very experienced and talented QB in Cutler. Aby SoCalRAMatic - RamsFootballFans.com
Fun article, but not even a mention of Tavon? He is the other big offensive threat for our horns. How can anyone write this many words about our running game and not mention him?by SoCalRAMatic - RamsFootballFans.com
Thank you for your response and your take makes sense. The only thing in my mind is we have a rookie QB, a second year RB, several other second and third year guys at the other OL positions and a young receiving core. A guy like Reynolds who knows his assignments and gives his all seems like a great kind of guy to have as a starter. Hav is obviously going to be our RT for many years and GRob wilby SoCalRAMatic - RamsFootballFans.com
What about Reynolds? From what I remember seeing, after Hav at RT, Reynolds looked like the most consistent OL we had last year. Brown was spotty and then injured. Saffold was injured. GRob was lousy until the final few games. Wichy looked good but I thought Reynolds showed more.by SoCalRAMatic - RamsFootballFans.com
30th? ESPN should be ashamed. Weren't we picking 15th before our big trade? Wouldn't that indicate we are kind of in the middle record/talent wise? Didn't we just add the top QB in the nation? Don't we have Quinn and Ogletree coming back? Don't we have the best RB in the universe? C'Don't we have one of the best D's around? Don't we have a gigantic monstrous young OL comprised of maulers?by SoCalRAMatic - RamsFootballFans.com
