QuoteFlorida_Ram The injury history of some of the key Rams offensive histories is not as bad as some fans portray. online was among worst in league history ... 2023 was not nearly as bad. Not sure who said it's one thing or another, but Kupp goes down a lot, missed 13 games in last 2 years. So, maybe depends on what it is compared to but in 2024 is like 2023 it's going to be normal Iby JimYoungblood53 - RamsFootballFans.com
and make the team and be part of SB winning team. But if X. Smith beats him out ... no issue with that, either. Didn't love it when Skow was traded, but if a team can upgrade they have to do it .. and Whittington may be upgrade to Skow I dunno ... just asking questions ... off season, time for speculation, I guessby JimYoungblood53 - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteRustyRay He cant help that D Rob got hot and Stafford was looking for him more and more since Kupp was ineffective most of the season. . It's not that he's terrible --- it's that, though no fault of his own, he does not make the kind of plays a high-rounder should. All it too lwas Robinson getting hot for him to have his role limited more. My point is he needs to do those things, plby JimYoungblood53 - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteRamsFanSince69 Does the stronger running game mean more rushing TDs in the redzone and less passing TDs for Stafford? He is such a team player that I can't see him worried about that, but if the focus is more on the rushing game, maybe he wants to ensure that - no matter if his stats are down - he gets paid. Either way I'd like the Rams to guarantee his salary for 2025. Just saying' it'by JimYoungblood53 - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteGlacieRam He beat TWO blocks. The back had no chance and looked like he wanted no part of Johnson as Johnson literally steamrolled him in pursuit of the QB. I agree that Johnson may have more of a roll than many are thinking. He seems to be the forgotten piece at this time. though tackle was making up for the guard's whiffby JimYoungblood53 - RamsFootballFans.com
the DE is in 4i and RDT is a 3-tech...but nose is a zero, but rather than gap-1/2 he plays two gap -- see there is no penetration attempt ... he stands up C and reads. The DE (4i) and DT (3) both get double-teamed with the LDE making a great play but base on alignment and technique, neither was 2-gappingby JimYoungblood53 - RamsFootballFans.com
I thknk he can play both DT and DE ... can back up Turner if need be preseason swim move shooting a gap---not playing gap-1/2 here --- it is a called slant and it's one-gap and he beats G a sack on a stunt... watch Johnson use the long arm on the tackle, the stunt works and he gets a sackby JimYoungblood53 - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteDavid Deacon Youngblood I love these types of posts you make as they are very educational. I rarely comment on them because I don't feel like I have a educated opinion but I really enjoy them and know they are a lot of work. Just wanted to say thanks. I think Johnson BTW is an interesting player to watch. He did get some PT towards the end of last year and made some plays. I will be iby JimYoungblood53 - RamsFootballFans.com

"It's more prevalent at the P4. Gotta have dudes. But it's part of that Saban/Roberts influence" A "dude" is someone who can do it--a new word for "stud" I guess. QuoteRockRam I'm not a real X's and O's guy, but just thinking it about it, I'm not sure very many (if any) colleges play gap and 1/2 fronts. For one thing, there's a lot of technical stuff that has to happen, a lot of discipline, and I'm not so sure that kind of somewhat complex front can be run with much success in college. So I wonder if any DT can be evaluated based on that? It would seemby JimYoungblood53 - RamsFootballFans.com

Fiske did one gap in college --- only based on what I have seen -- Davis --- I have not looked very much ... looked one-gap form what little I have seen but could be wrong there ... Anyway, when you see AJ Shulte talk about two-gap and Fiske not being able to do it, you can rightly question it. back in the day 3-4 schemes was often connected to two-gap defense. They were not always, buby JimYoungblood53 - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteShecky Pull up his go routes and Stafford misses on the majority of them. Did they really ask him to logically be a deep threat? With the amount of opportunities, that is doubtful. all I can say is maybe, maybe not. But let's say What is your response to his non-factor in the return game? So much so he couldn't or didn't even beat out the returners the last two years after being bencheby JimYoungblood53 - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteShecky Oh c'mon 53. What hasn't Tutu done that he's been asked to do? I think in his limited targets he should have broken more long ones.I get that his numbers wouldn't be huge because he's not Kupp but his yards per catch is poor. And now kickoff rules have changed but part of why they drafted him was to be return specials and he didn't do that well. I understand that it was notby JimYoungblood53 - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteShecky Can someone explain the Tutu hate. He didn't draft himself in the 2nd round. if you pass on a center --- a high position of need --- on a line that had been neglected you better nail the pick. 57 catches in 3 years does not justify the pick and the hate is misdirected. McSnead gave Rams what they wanted-- a ring ... and there have been hits and misses and as you know that's aby JimYoungblood53 - RamsFootballFans.com

it's worth takign seriously. Sure there is hype ... "super fasdt, super smart" I like the "smart" part. But this is from last year, so it didn't happen last year ... so that is when you give a little pause.by JimYoungblood53 - RamsFootballFans.com
Quoteoldschoolramfan I see the trade good for both teams.....Sko had his days in L.A. but, it was time to move on for the Rams and him. he can be the guy who plays a few roles on a up and coming team --- help their special teams, be a blocking WR -- all thatby JimYoungblood53 - RamsFootballFans.com
the pink numbers are their best overall rate. HAVOC is a metric Coach A came up with ... he'd have to explain it but it's effectiveness in each coverage ... goes deeper than PFF Curl is great at quarters. Rams ran about 35% quarters/Cov-6/8 in 2023 Williams also good but also good in other things Williams and Curl are scheme fits for what Rams have been doing.
