The problem in getting new vaccines is not really "pushing through red tape". It MUST be handled carefully and methodically or you risk doing more harm than good. There are protocols in place for testing and those are things that require time. You can't test a vaccine on mice and then think you're good to go. It can't be fast-tracked. Medicine is NOT the same as some new gadget that can be pushed through red tape and then on to market. If you try and cut corners to get it done faster, the results could be disastrous. Sorry, but that's how it works. You can cut through red-tape to build hospitals, or to get equipment. But NOT vaccines or other medicines. To do so is irresponsible and too high of a risk when you're talking about human lives. It must be done in the right way.
