Anything to the timing of AD calling it? Should he have done it in January?

Is retiring at THIS point good, bad or indifferent for the Rams moving forward?? Personally, I'm a tad miffed BUT..... It has been in the back of my mind that it could happen any time. Let's remember...He had to be talked OUT of retirement 2 years ago. I also wonder if the Rams new this was coming and the timing is some sort of plan??? I just don't know.
