AD retiring -- steady in the boat

AD is an all-time great NFL player, much less all-time great Ram.

Now we move on....

Quick thoughts....

1. DT is a low value position. Don't make panic moves to replace AD. Let's see what we can get from guys on the roster and some stop-gap FA's to play DT. Rams are a low probability super bowl team this year even with AD. Adding cap space may be a very good thing for next year and beyond.

2. I assume next year this opens up a good amount of salary cap. We will need a QB at some point. This newly found salary cap should be turned into an advantage. Whether they use some of it this year, or conserve it for future years.

3. So far in FA, the Rams defense has added to solid new starters in the defensive backfield that are desperate needs. More to come there. So far so good. Young guys on DL now have to step up.

4. Edge is still a big need (and it's a high value position). WR maybe. RB depth. Lots of draft picks to work with.

Stick with the plan....

5. It was highly unlikely the Rams were a serious super bowl contender this year. Redu
