1979...The Rams sputtered and were a mess with injuries. Had a record of 5 and 6 at one point. Haden goes out with an injury. Dallas absolutely SMEARED us 30 to 6 in reg season (Wasn't that close). Well.....Rams fought. Rams made the Playoffs. That same Dallas team that smeared us?? Remember how THAT Playoff game turned out?? Then we go on to give the DYNASTY Steelers a HELLUVA scare in SB 14.
1989.....Rams started off ok and then all hell broke loose! Rams lose 4 in a row....Or was it 5?? Rams finally said..ENOUGH!! I recall the skid ending vs the Giants at Anaheim. Shortly after Flipper broke an NFL record that STILL stands......Then a magical Playoff run started.....FOUR Playoff wins in a row. I say four because we HAD to beat the Jets and New England to get there. New England....Philly and the Giants.... THREE exreme East Coast runs. Two vs TOUGH Ds in hostile venues. I will go to my grave saying that the next week in Frisco...If Lott does not make a great play and deflect a sure TD and Rams 10 to 0 lead, we win that game too! HELLUVA RUN!! HELLUVA TEAM in 1989.
BOTH of those VERY VERY memorable seasons happened after a bumpy road. It's why there's NO WAY IN HELL I ever look to a Draft while the Rams are alive! One more thing............ LETS EFFING GO, RAMMERS!!!!!
