W/L no longer has any importance compared to the opportunity to evaluate up-and-comers for ‘23 pre-draft.
Some players like Mayfield and Hoecht are obvious.
In particular I would love to see all possible snaps for the following:
Hopkins (is it possible that he could be a quality #2 TE next year?)
Atwell ( what do we really have in this kid, let’s see more please)
McCutcheon
Murchison (flash in the pan or is he maybe a helluva lot more)
Hardy
Keir Thomas
Rochell (let’s make sure if this guy can play or not)
Jolly
Lake (might be a gem. Let’s give him a test drive)
Yeast
How the above youngsters perform could really aid Snead/McVay in determining FA and/or draft priorities. That’s invaluable.
No question that some of those guys gave opened some eyes. Can there be more? Let’s give ‘em a fair chance and find out.
