Lack of variety is a problem

I loved the Rams lead at halftime record but it hides a fault. If you haven't figured it out yet then you may be screwed because you will be getting a lot more in the 2nd half. However when it's not working for us in the first half we are screwed because we lack the ability to make major adjustments ie the Patriots super bowl. The Rams run zone defense 90% of the time, 2nd most in the league. I am not bashing Raheem like most do but unless you are elite at your chosen defense like Sapp's Tampa Two, you need variety to keep opposing team guessing. The only thing we run more than zone defense, is 11 personnel shotgun McStafford on offense. If you have cracked the code on it, we are screwed. The Niners have and our mediocre OL is helping other teams do it too. Bellicheat will run a scheme he hasn't touched all year for a big game, that is elite. McVay seems to acquire players that can only do things one way and if that way doesn't work, game over. Because of our record against the Niners and that we had a bye McVay implemented more of the smoke and mirrors McGoff playbook in the first half but then his ego (?) caused him to abandon it in the 2nd half and go back to his preferred offense to predictable results. Goff's limitations forced McVay to adjust more if he wanted to succeed but with Stafford it appears he is less willing to do so. People hate the soft coverage and are frustrated because it never changes, if people also hated the McStafford shotgun offense they would be equally as frustrated because neither ever change. That's an endictment on McVay.
