Here’s Merlin…
QB:
1. Stafford
2. Perkins
I think it's a travesty to keep a third QB with this roster. Pick one. That's the two I'd go with.
RB:
1. Akers
2. Williams
3. Hendy
4. Funk
They have to keep 4 backs given the injuries we have seen with them. Funk has been a disappointment in the backfield but is an excellent teams player so he'll get the nod.
WR:
1. Kupp
2. Robinson
3. Jefferson
4. Atwell
5. Skowronek
6. Powell
7. McClutch
8. Harris
If the Rams end up adding Odell then Jefferson is the trade chip as he'll have the most value vs what he brings.
TE:
1. Higs
2. Hop
3. Carter
Carter gets the nod for teams and basic depth for playing inline.
OL:
1. Havenstein
2. Noteboom
3. Edwards
4. Allen
5. Shelton
6. Anchrum
7. A.J. Jackson
8. A.J. Arcuri
One of the Rams roster mistakes this year was not adding enough competitive depth up front. Gotta own it and only keep those who deserve it but I strongly dislike only having 8. I expect they will have an eye on the final cut round and put in claims on a player or two here to try to find one more.
DL:
1. AD
2. Gaines
3. Robinson
4. Copeland
5. Hoecht
6. Williams
I think the article had these right.
ILB:
1. Wagner
2. Jones
3. Rozeboom
4. Hummel
Rozeboom has been core teams so I figure the Rams keep him. Hummel is a keeper with cheap team control so he'll wrap up the group. Gervase will clear waivers.
OLB:
1. Floyd
2. Hollins
3. Lewis
4. Thomas
5. Whitley
Garrett will be exposed to waivers and if he clears they'll PS him. But he's been beaten out this year. Whitley showed some good things, so did Thomas, and that has to count for something.
CB:
1. Ramsey
2. Hill
3. Long
4. Rochell
5. Durant
6. Kendrick
Deepest corner room I can recall in my lifetime. Question is who takes that role opposite Ramsey because generally that player gets a ton of work and has to be up to snuff.
S:
1. Fuller
2. Scott
3. Rapp
4. Yeast
Lake's injury simplifies this room quite a bit. Yeast deserves that final spot.
