OK salary cap / contract gurus.....Let me get this straight.

Let's just say an NFL team is in negotiations with a player already on the roster....Like Rams and Akers for example.

Let's say the player and team agree to a 5 year deal that includes "guaranteed money".

When the team signs the player to a contract, the player wants the "guaranteed money" because that's what he gets!

After that, the player has to play 5 years to get the rest of that $$$$.

If the player plays 2 years, then gets hurt, then the team can cut him and the last 3 years of his contract are null and void....Correct?
