Only 4 QBs in the NFC have played every game this year

Only 4 QBs in the NFC have not been injured and thus played in every game this year.
Unfortunately, one of them (Kirk Cousins) is unvaccinated, has caught Covid, and will be out (probably for 2 games).

That leaves:

Matt Ryan
Tom Brady
Matt Stafford

What do these 4 have in common? They are all drop back pocket passers.

Running or scrambling QBs make for great highlight reels and for a short time can lead the team into the playoffs. But they tend to be exploding stars that shine bright and then fade. It is predictable as the hands of a clock.

Already Kyler Murray and Lamar Jackson are starting to face mounting injury issues. These things add up. And when they finally realize that they can't survive very long running, they start to get like Russel Wilson and Cam Newton that try to become pure drop back pocket passers and so their games begin to diminish when they attempt to become something they're not.

Give me the really good pocket passer for the long term. Otherwise, you better be drafting a running QB pretty much every year if that's the kind of QB you're going to build your offense on. You'll need him sooner and more often than you think.
