When did the NFL dump Punt, Pass & Kick for kids??

That used to be a big thing way back. When I was in 6th Grade, Fall 1978, I had a neighbor get to dress in a Dolphins uniform and compete during halftime of a Dolphins game in the Orange Bowl. I always remember him being tired at the bus stop because he compete during the half of the 4PM game. Game ended around 7 and then they had to drive back to Jacksonville that night.
