It's funny how somethings are judged in comparison to others. Compared to how badly Jared was playing at the end the Wolf was a breath of fresh air, something to be desired, not by just posters on this board but obviously by McVay himself. However when the Wolf checked in this week I had a different feeling. It wasn't "wow I want this" it was, "my goodness we can't do better than this?" The Wolf compared to Stafford is a disaster that needs to be addressed, the Wolf compared to Goff was a looming QB controversy. Had Goff stayed there might be a strong contingent of Herd members calling for a honest QB competition (and I might be one of them), but with Matthew I am now questioning the Wolf's place on the team.
