I've been thinking about the kinds of players who might have an unprecedented slide due to any types of unknowns ( medicals, character concerns, the position not being highly valued) And I started to think about Jaelan Phillips.
Phillips is everything you want in an edge rusher with the size, athleticism, and pass rush skill set. However a report came out that teams have been very wary about all of the medicals of the draft prospects this year because there was no combine to properly vet them. Phillips has a history of concussions and even was forced to medically retire due to concussions a couple of years ago. He showed no signs last year and had a really really good season. Feels like the kind of guy who could drop to 57 and, considering our edge situation, he could be a perfect fit and maybe worth the risk. But maybe the Rams are a team that needs to just fill a sure thing at a position with their first pick?
