Mundt RFA, LS McQuaide

In order to resign Mundt as a RFA he would have to be offered 2.13 million. That would be currently the 11th highest salary. It will drop as Williams will get a higher tender. Nonetheless, there is no way that we will make a 2 million dollar offer for a #3 TE. He may resign for a minimum level plus a signing bonus but until we do our our TEs are Higbee, Blanton and Hopkins.

LS McQuaide is a 10 year vet. Thus his minimum salary is a little over 1 million (about what he earned in 2020). However, the rams currently have two other LS on the roster. Colin Holba who was on our PS but was picked up by SF and played a game for them. After the season they released him and we resigned him. Holba is signed for 920000. Adding McQuiade and releasing Holba is not much of a change to our CAP. We also have Steven Wirtel who Detroit signed as UDFA last spring. We signed him after they released him. Wirtel is below the 51 cutoff and does not count against the cap. If the rams bring McQuaide back, I doubt we hold on to Holba. When we are tight against the cap, there is no way 2 million of cap dollars will go towards LS. Holba is the insurance policy until we sign McQuaide. If he wants to test the FA waters, the rams have a JAG in his place.
