The Los Angeles Rams are soft and mentally weak. They have been all season long. And folks.....as much as we all love him....that is about coaching.
10 days to prepare for the winless NY Jets who were just destroyed by Seattle, 40-3. The 28th ranked defense. A defense without a defensive coordinator.
This team defines SOFFFFFTTTTTT. The offense is SOFFFFTTT. You want to see tough, NFL football watch the 49ers, Titans, Ravens. Rarely will you see gimmick plays where 190 lb. WRs are running trap blocks. They run downhill, smash mouth. The Rams are so mentally and physically soft it's embarrassing. And it's been this way the entire season.
Fans can blame Jared Goff all they want, but they're just wrong. The problem starts with coaching. I love McVay, but in my opinion, he has truly embarrassed himself this season. The only thing that has saved him has been the defense (up until today). His play calling is RIDICULOUS. It's terrible....it is NOT innovative. When was the last time you saw a normal 15 yard out? Are you brimming with confidence on 3rd and 8 or bracing for the inevitable WR screen? There is no excuse for what they did today. I've seen McVay adjust the 'wrong' way. His best game was against the Pats. Everything else has been suspect. I don't know what the answer is, but they need something else on that coaching staff. Someone to reign him in or ...something....
This team is mentally weak. To roll out and play like that today isn't just your normal 'once a season stinker'....it's become a solid pattern. The games they've won is mostly due to having more talent.
This team is so, so, so soft. The 9er games, the Dolphins....even the Giants... those are tough football teams. The Rams have many of the pieces, but lack it upstairs......and folks, believe what you will about Goff (the endless hate for him is laughable; won't be drawn into that dumb conversation) .... this team lacks CONSISTENT mental toughness....and that.......is a leadership problem.
