The Rams maintaining their ability to have playmakers sets everything in motion. The fact that both Kupp and Woods can make plays anywhere on the field and can make yards after the catch changes completely how teams can defend them and opens up a running game and the ability to keep the defense from knowing what is coming. The lack of predictability and the spacing that a McVay offense is what makes it free and easy with a whole collection of ways to attack the defense.
However, the #1 signing in the off season is Diggs in Buffalo. That passing offense has went from 7th from last to #2 in the NFL. They went from a defense only team to a complete team with a minor tweak.
The Rams are in position to be a contender the next few years after the emphasis on playmaker. We went years running guys out there like practice squad guys like Gibson and Amendola and the list is a long one like that and couldn't make plays to change the flow of the game. After Bruce and Holt, the team just went into a shell on offense and a good series was one that got a first down.
