I have had NFL Sunday Ticket since 2013. Like most monopolies, the service is terrible. I do lots of traveling, and I would often set the DVR to record Rams games while traveling. They publish a schedule before the season, but, for some unexplained reason, they would move games to different channels. For example, a Rams game might be scheduled for 713. Several weeks later, it would be moved to 712. What possible reason could there be for such a change that could cause a fan, who is paying for this service, to miss the game? That is exactly what happened to me on more than one occasion. Another issue is that they wait until just before the season begins to publish the schedule (of which games appear on which channels). Why wait so late? The NFL schedule comes out in the spring. I can see no reason, other than the fact that monopolies simply don't care about customers, for not compiling the schedule at least a month in advance. I have a trip coming up right at the start of the season. With the start date of the trip coming up, I was concerned that the schedule wasn't going to come out in time to get it programmed. Finally, the schedule was posted yesterday. Then I tried to program the first two games for when I would be out of town and noticed that channels 708 through 718 don't show up. I called DirecTV, but they weren't able to help. This was the last straw for me. I cancelled the lousy service from this monopoly. I won't be watching the Rams this season, but I expect the meltdown that began late last season to go full blown this season.
