I had seen highlights but never knew just how tough n close that game was. Rams stopped N.E. THREE times inside the 10 the last 12 seconds or so of the game. That was essentially a playoff game. Ellard had a HUUUUUGE 53 yard catch n run to set up Bell's winning TD. All this and the Rams had to beat the NYJ the previous week and would go on the road the next two weeks, in the Playoffs and take out Philly and NYG! When we lost to the Niners, I could not be upset with the Rams. What a HELLUVA ride / effort they did to get there!! And if Lott does not make a great hustling play to bat down a sure TD to Flipper and a 10 to 0 Rams lead???? I think the Rams beat Denver (Not 55 to 10 like the Niners did) but the Rams would have won.I think we would still be calling the 1989 squad the best ever.
