What was the biggest reason for fall short in superbowl?

Too many predictable runs in first half on first down causing bad 3rd down situations. This put Goff in bad situation after bad situation which got him out of sync early. He was better in the 2nd half when Rams threw on first down and he had some uncertainty by the Patriots defense. They killed the Rams on 3rd downs with great pass rushing looks that confused Goff. Had the Rams thrown on first down, I believe the Rams win the superbowl.

Take away your top 2 playmakers that move the changes and you have problems moving the ball.


Just did not make the 2 big plays - Goff threw too late and Cooks not making the catch

Despite so many things that went wrong on offense, if Goff throws the ball when Cooks is wide open in the endzone early or Cooks comes up with the catch on the 2nd one, the Rams still may win this game.



Horrific holding call on Gurleys one big run

II didn't get this call, but it was a killer after the Rams got a call earlier on defensive holding.


Reynolds not a big enough threat to take coverage away from other WRs

When you hear the announcers show video on how little respect the Patriots gave Reynolds, you see the value of Kupp. They showed videos at times where Kupp ran to an open area. One time it was on Goff completely for not throwing it but Reynolds had single cover or no coverage when the Patriots played these combo man / zone types of defenses. Announcers were all over this one.

Bad offensive line play

That right guard got schooled multiple times.
