Try to force the run early set the tone and cost the Rams the game

The biggest problem with the game was the first half on 1st down. Too many 1st down runs that set up 3rd down that didn't convert, but all my keys to the game didn't happen.


In the 2nd half, much better and it came down with the Rams not making a couple of plays in the end zone, but it should have never gotten to that point.

Defensively, it was pretty good, but again keys to game in game winning drive was Gronk

He got both in the seam and a wheel route lob and the water bug had his way most of the game.


In fairness, take away the Rams 2 best offensive players with Gurley and Kupp and you are like 2 hands tied behind your back, but McVay caved to public pressure by running on 1st down in the first half and it cost the team the superbowl. Created obviously passing downs where the Patriots could come with their tricking pass rushes and show so many things that confused Goff instead of giving him a chance on 1st down.

When that changed in the 2nd half, the Rams were a better offense and had a couple of endzone throws that could have turned the game in the Rams favor, but it should never had gotten to that point.
