Wouldn’t it be nice to have a huge TOP advantage in the playoffs? Especially against the likes of a Brees, Wilson, Mahomes, Rivers, or a Brady? A magnificent keep-away strategy.
We all have known that McVay had a resume including being a TE guru. Well, it’s taken him 2 seasons to bring Higbee and Everett along sufficiently but I think that he’s now done it. The Kupp injury forced his hand, but I suspect that we will now see a heavy dose of 2 TE sets through the playoffs. And a whole lot of run play calls.
If teams gameplan against that, then McVay can pull one and re-insert Reynolds.
This game was a huge confidence builder for the players, the coaches, and the fans. Bodes very well for the playoffs.
