After 4 games, Rams stars are on pace to put up eye-popping numbers

The story through two weeks was the sheer dominance of the Los Angeles Rams’ defense. The team had allowed just 13 points in its first two games, going six straight quarters without allowing any points and keeping the Cardinals off their half of the field until the final drive.

In the past two weeks, it’s been the Jared Goff show. He and the entire offense have been great through four weeks, but they’ve been especially good the past two weeks. The Rams have scored 73 points the last two games, continuing their increase in points in each of the past four weeks.

As a result, the offensive playmakers have put up some gaudy numbers thus far. Here’s a look at the stats from their top five playmakers.

Goff: 97/134, 1,406 yards, 11 TDs, 2 INTs
Gurley: 79 carries, 338 yards, 4 TDs | 15 catches, 194 yards, 2 TDs
Cooks: 26 catches, 452 yards, 1 TD
Kupp: 24 catches, 348 yards, 4 TDs
Woods: 24 catches, 323 yards, 3 TDs
Impressive, right? Absolutely, by every measure. However, when you extrapolate those numbers out over the course of a 16-game season, they become even more incredible. Goff is on pace to set career highs in every stat imaginable, including a whopping 5,624 yards.

Todd Gurley is right on track to once again reach 2,000 yards from scrimmage, while also surpassing his touchdown total of 19 from last season. Brandin Cooks, Cooper Kupp and Robert Woods are also on pace to all surpass 90 catches and 1,200 yards, which is unfathomable.

Of course, things will change between now and the end of the season, but these are some mind-blowing numbers.

Goff: 388/536, 5,624 yards, 44 TDs, 8 INTs
Gurley: 316 carries, 1,352 yards, 16 TDs | 60 catches, 776 yards, 8 TDs
Cooks: 104 catches, 1,808 yards, 4 TDs
Kupp: 96 catches, 1,392 yards, 16 TDs
Woods: 96 catches, 1,292 yards, 12 TDs
There’s a legitimate chance the Rams field three 1,000-yard receivers this season, cementing their place as the best trio in the NFL. Gurley will once again be an MVP candidate, but the story here is Goff.

He looks like an All-Pro through four games and could give Gurley a run for his money in the race for MVP and Offensive Player of the Year. It’s going to be a fun finish to the season, to say the least.
