So how does a potential lock out affect current contract negotiations?

I probably worded that incorrectly, but if what some people are saying comes true - that the NFL will shut down in 2021 over the collective bargaining agreement, how does that affect contracts and negotiations now? I know guys are really pulling for guaranteed money and I'm wondering how much a possible lockout is affecting that.. Kind of sucks for the fans that there might not be an NFL season in a few years and the majority of players will get paid, anyway..

Probably a stupid question, but I'm bored and didn't wanna bring up the Vermeil/Martz, Bulger/Warner thing again..
