Success doesn’t come without hard work, regardless of what profession you’re in. It’s especially true in the NFL, which is why the majority of the best players in league history were also some of the hardest workers.

Aqib Talib has had quite the run in the NFL since being a first-round pick in 2008. He entered the league with high expectations, but not many people could’ve predicted he’d have 34 career interceptions and 10 pick-sixes up to this point. Add in five straight Pro Bowl appearances and a first-team All-Pro selection and it’s easy to see why the Rams went out and acquired him from the Broncos.

Although he’s had a few incidents on the field – most notably fighting Michael Crabtree twice – but he’s an incredibly hard worker. He’s only been a member of the Rams for about four months, but Wade Phillips knows Talib well and praised the cornerback for his work ethic.

"I'll say one thing about Aqib: his work ethic was tremendous, which I think all of the young guys saw too. He does everything 100 miles an hour and does great things at practice. He shows what it takes to be a great player."

With the Rams’ secondary being so young, they need someone to step up and take on a leadership role. Talib can certainly be that guy given his experience and success in the NFL, so don’t be surprised to see many of the Rams’ young cornerbacks turn to him for guidance.

His veteran presence will be an underrated aspect of this offseason’s addition.
