Strategy question about last Eagles FG

I was surprised when DP decided to go for a long 46 yarder in that situation.
Up by 5 with just over 60 seconds left , no TO for the Pats I probably would have taken a delay of game penalty and punted the ball.

A blocked kick or even only a miss would have given the Pats excellent field position and a short field for the winning TD.
IMHO the risk was a lot bigger than the additional 3 points.
