McVay wants so badly to do well...

January 04, 2018 01:33PM
I am a little worried about him outsmarting himself and trying to do too much by creating a game plan that is creative and unique and fools the other team.

I hope that he realizes how good his players are, and puts them in good positions to succeed and "beat the guy in front of them."

The Rams are a better team than the Falcons. All that McVay needs to do is create a game plan that works to our strengths, works against their weaknesses and creates long drives that end in touchdowns.

Like playing Tom Brady, I think long drives that keep Matty Iceberg on the bench and wear out the defense, playing to our more rested team, are the best strategy.

I do think McVay does listen to the more experienced coaches around him. Hopefully they keep him grounded and not getting too "cute" in the offensive gameplan.

Best thing for McVay would be for us to score on the first drive.

Don't get me wrong, I think he is a GREAT coach. But I worry he puts too much pressure on himself to be perfect. Our players can win the game for us. Let them.
