Nothing is guaranteed (except for Tom Brady).
Each season is so different and there is no telling if the schedule falls your way, or players work hard, playing teams at the right time, etc.
Who says 2018 the Rams will be good?
Look at the 2017 Raiders. They sign Carr to a $125mm contract and a lot of people said, "Tough injury to Carr last year, but they are set and they have Marshawn Lynch...."
I trust they play hard and care, but their is no absolutes in the NFL...
