Seems to me that the Keenum familiarity factor favors the Rams.

To the extent that familiarity and knowledge of tendencies matter, I think that the Rams will have a distinct advantage when it comes to Case Keenum.

The Rams' defenders (most of whom were on the team last year) are used to lining up across Keenum in practice. They probably know some of his "tells" when it comes to looking off a defender, when and where he's likely to escape, and what throws he can and cannot make.

On the flip side, while Keenum is familiar with the Rams defenders, he's not familiar with this defense. He's never seen these players line up in a Wade Phillips 3-4(ish) system (and no, he was not in Houston when Wade Phillips was there).

My best piece of evidence of the value of familiarity is the Rams' success against Russell Wilson. He is probably the most quirky QB in the league. The Rams' defense, though, seems to have a pretty good knowledge of his tendencies, as they have often (not always, but often) had success against him.

We'll see if this is a factor on Sunday.
