Under Fishface, when the O played well, our D would ensure it was a W. When the O played marginally, more times than not our D would bring home the W. Even when the O didn't show up the D could eke out a W (2 9-6 W's just last year, or half our W total). Games where the D didn't play well or tired out were never even in doubt.
The problem under Fishface was that we never had a viable O, regressing to 32nd his last 2 years.
Under McVay, if our O is average we still have a chance to win. If it is above average we are a lock for the playoffs. If it is top ten, we will win the division and make some serious noise in the playoffs.
It's good to have a coach bring us in to the new millennium. The last 13yrs have been hard to bear, especially the last two.
