Orlovsky may be here to help in the QB room; but he certainly doesn't help on the field.
I think he'll last no longer than the 3rd preseason game and the Rams will work to find their 3rd QB who is PS eligible.
Face it; a team gets down to their 3rd QB, they are in football Hell. At that point you might as well find an old, out of work vet QB because no rookie is going to be able to help you.
Yet, for one game if the starter is hurt, the 2nd stringer starts and you call up the young PS guy as Hail Mary if the 2nd stringer gets dinged.
So if the starting QB goes down for any length of time, you're going to get on the phone and sign a vet anyway, and the 3rd stringer goes back to the PS.
The 3rd QB is for scout teams, sudden emergencies and little more.
